btoks:if its truly for the reason of developing african football then CAF would've set a quota for each team on how many home based players are to participate. We both know that there's no development when the foreign based professionals still dominate the teams. You will have to admit that African football can't b said to have made significant progress in competitions like the worldcup/confed cup despite the increase in team participation in fact the nations' cup's 2 year interval is a reason why most european manager would rather sign a south america who won't have to leave him by january 1 Like |

nedu2000:ok bro, I got confused with the dates. I still don't see anything wrong with AFCON held every 2 years. But I think it should be move to summer and not during the middle of the season in January. Also caf should call it off till the ebola crisis is resolved |

Raiders: AFCON still holds every 2 years. 2017 host is supposed to be Libya (they switch with South Africa for 2013 due to security reasons), though they withdrew. CAF is still searching for potential host. Morocco should come up with a better reason on why they are withdrawing as hosts. The countries currently being ravaged by Ebola are not going to qualify anyway, so why withdraw? Let's hope another country will be able to step in and host the event |

@Post I can't blame Morocco. They have to do what they have to do to protect their citizens. CAF should cancel the tournament for now. 2 Likes |

CAF body should be disbanded! Moroccan organizing committee has a point and they cannot gamble with the life of their citizens. I am glad they have the foresight to opt-out of hosting the soccer game if CAF is not ready to postpone the date. CAF is full of primitive people who cannot reason beyond using force. Jeez! What a barbaric football body. 2 Likes |

nedu2000:Let's just say they had good intentions initially, obviously CAF needs major reforms to actually develop African football. I suppose from your points that's why managers never pay top dollar for African players. |

cocoduck: 1) Trust me dude, there's nothing in my life that you need to be sorry for. Maybe your family needs your sorry. 2) And it makes many Nigerians very smart and accomplished. 3) There's nothing wrong with being self taught. School is only part of a persons education. School is not the only way to get an education. One of my idols, a Nigerian industrialist, Alhadji Arisekola wasn't particularly schooled but he accomplished a lot. So roll up your sleeves and get cracking and stop sniveling like a little weasel and using no money for school as an excuse. 4) And again maybe your family needs your sorry because I certainly don't need it. 5) Just because you sit your poor black a$$ in Nigerian and sucking her resources dry doesn't make you patriotic. What have you done for Nigeria lately, how much taxes have you paid to Nigeria in your lifetime, how much property has your entire lineage developed in Nigeria, how many Nigerians have your entire family hired as labour? Never ever question my nationality again. I'm more Nigerian than you ever can be. 6) Sorry but I'm not a coward like you that ponders taking his own life, my life is simply too fulfilled for me to contemplate that. Maybe you can mix some otapiapia with your ogun jedi and lay down for a nice rest when you get home. |

South Africa and Ghana should stop that nonsense. Nobody should host any AFCON for now. Let the Ebola go first. Would CAF and the players die if they don't play early next year? CAF is acting irresponsibly. Kudos to Morocco government for protecting their citizens. 4 Likes |

nedu2000: That's the only reason really. While June\July might be summer in some parts of the world, rain pours heavily in most African countries at that time. As far as Morrocco pulling ou is concerned, while their reasons are justifiable, I still think the Nations Cup can still hold with a few restrictions. Let's not forget that Ebola was already raging in Liberia and Sierra Leone before the last World Cup. That didn't make Brazil or Fifa bar West African teams like Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Ghana or Cameroon or their fans from attending. Imagine if they had asked the African teams to stay away or postponed the tourney because of Ebola. I think the increased buzz about Ebola only increased after it entered Nigeria via Patrick Sawyer and now its in Europe and the US. Morrocco or any hosting country and CAF just needs to take extra precaution. Probably reduce the number of fans coming in and screening everybody. Like someone said, if Ebola will enter Morrocco, it doesn't need Afcon. 1 Like |

dabossman:The extra precaution is that CAF should postpone the game for Ebola reason. Please, make use of your brain! |
