There are people and there are places But not like the Yorubas Whose origin was from the Great Oduduwa who descended from the sky to create Ile-Ife. There are cultures and there are norms But not like the Yorubas Who are identified with tribal marks and compliment the etiquette of greetings. There are morals and there are courtesies But not like the Yorubas Who appreciate the pride of Virginity in marriage and reciprocate being respected. There are politics and there are laws But not like the Yorubas Who rule with dynasty and honour their kings and chiefs. There is transportation and there are communications But not like the Yorubas Who travel by foot and horses and communicate through Aroko, Agogo, Ilu, Fire and Staff. There are works and there are occupations But not like the Yorubas Who work harder on their jobs and major in farming and hunting. There are drugs and there are vaccines But not like the Yorubas Who cherish the ancient trend of roots and leaves for remedies of human maladies. There are functions and there are festivals But not like the Yorubas Who give name following the state of the home and fervently worship their gods faithfully. There are foods and there are drinks But not like the Yorubas Who prefer Okele and Palm wine to direct consumption of grains, leaves and distilled wine. There are clothes and there are styles But not like the Yorubas Who manufacture Aso-Oke and designed it to Agbada, Buba, Iro, Gele and Soro. There are cosmetics and there are hairdos But not like the Yorubas Who make over with Laali, Atike and Tiroo, plait Suku, Kolese, Ipako-Elede and cut Aso-Oluode, Orididan and Fari-Apakan styles. There are songs and there are dances But not like the Yorubas Who love Rara, Ijala, Ewi and Bata than today's Rhythm & Blues, Hip-Hop, Reggae and Break dance. 1 Like 1 Share |
