There is this common notion that older men tend to treat their partners very sweetly, pamper them and what not. We see it in the movies, don't we?


I had the opportunity of dating someone 10years my senior, I did partially because I wanted to experience the so called pampering and also cos I felt we had something in common.

It was a disaster, the memory sef is a disaster. He wanted me to treat him as 'uncle'. He always had an opinion, always wanted to have his way. Them no tell me before I run.

I can't do it again.

E be like say we be sisters. My relationship at the university was exactly same way. He was 8years older and wanted reverence like a high priest. Although I didn't know about his real age before we started to date, he lied about it until I stumbled on his WASSCE certificate.

He was always quick to give me boring sermons whenever we had a misunderstanding and turned round the tables just because he felt he was too old to be wrong about certain things.

In the same vain, he had so many vices and overlooked them because of his age ego. Anyway he messed up and I dumped his sorry ass.

My dear, the thing do me like film trick. In my own case, I knew about the age gap. Whenever we had an issue, he was always quick to refer me to an experience he had sometime ago and how the lady reacted. The guy was just sick. He had major issues.

I'm not one to have regrets but till tomorrow, I'll always regret meeting him.
