The whole world is acknowledging Nigeria's wonderful achievement of defeating the Ebola monster but the man who prepared a novel response even before the disease hit our country is not being celebrated? Do you have any idea what it takes to mobilize special medical response teams, formulate and implement something odd as "contact tracing" in a governmental bureaucracy. Effectively supervise the "contact tracing" model and gently disseminate information on a daily basis like he was doing? Yes Sir, stop making it look like it is one big thing dude, it is not. The kudos should be given to the response Team of Lagos State Government that "informed" the Minister. The Minister did NOTHING other than giving briefs. Nothing Special really. Anyway, crisis response and crisis communication is one area of my field.

The problem with some of you people is that comprehension is bit tasking. Go through my post carefully you will see compelling response and answer to what you asked. All that is required of him is to visit show concern, emphasize and solidarize with the people on the ground.

So did Fashola personally check the spread of Ebola from ward to ward? Yet he is being praised for being in charge of the state where a great response to the outbreak was checked.

The foreign WHO consultant who was on ground within 24hrs of Patrick Sawyer's diagnosis doesn't work for LASG yet he was respnsible for personally coordinating the first isolation center. Abeg give honour where it is due.

Fashola disbursed funds immediately from the relative scarce resources, provided facilities for treatment of ebola patients and for quarantine. He also gave support to Mr. Jide Idris the Health Commissioner and his team to work freely and smoothly, while Lagos State went on Air to educate Lagosians on ways not to spread nor contact it. All these were supposed to be done by the Feds in the first instance. Fashola even went further to ensure that patient that were treated successfully are reintegrated into the society, as he had some party with them and took pictures with them. If you don't know the significance of that, ask someone that knows. My friend, your Minister only did what anybody can do- briefing of Journalisr

It's unfortunate that Nigerians spend their time on trivial issues that add no shred of value to life. Why do we need to celebrate the minister? This was a collaborative effort; a feat that couldn't be achieved by any one person, so what's the need of celebration when the real people who participated in the manhunt and quarantining of this epidemic aren't celebrated? If you want celebration, our govt (state and federal need to )

1. Improve the medical facilities in Nigeria;

2. Train expert personnel to handle outbreak such as these;

3. Increase funding (not looting) for research and development; and finally

4. Acknowledge and honor (Posthumous Award) to ALL the gallant heroes who died as a result of caring for the sick one. Those who took it upon themselves to retain the spread. There's NO GREATER HONOR THAN THIS.
