~There has been a lot criticism from retailers about the sterotype size 10 mannequins displayed at store windows here in the UK - after much debate about women's various sizes & how unrealistic it is to only display a size 10 mannequin,there will be a trail run at John Lewis,one of Britains reputable stores!! -if the feedback is great,i suppose we'll be able to see more size 14 mannequins diplayed in the front windows of stores!!


~I think it will be great for the more voluptuous woman,{i hate when people say fat:there's Fat then there's Voluptuous}to actually envision herself in something hangin on a mannequin her size instead of wondering how its going to look having seen it hanging off a size 10 mannequin!!{most times they'd prolly clipped the clothes at the back to appear more fitting!!}

~Have you ever thought of buying or bought an exact match of clothes- temptingly arranged on a mannequin . .& very appealing to the eyes might i add,only to try it on & it looks crap on you?lol . . !!  tongue


~What's you take on having these Mannequins displayed in stores & store windows ?

True talk mohawk, just like on size 10 mannequins, clothes look so good on the models with the ''right'' stats but so wrong on u. I only hope some of those size 14 mannequins have love-handles.  smiley grin

if size 10 (us cool is unrealistic in the UK, what about size 2?

all the mannequins here are no more than size 4,

yet they say we're the "fat" ones

Most of those dolls are a size zero or size 6 UK

~I supppose its considered unrealistic b/c the average woman in the UK isnt a size 10!! Due to estimated store sales figures,it is believed the average size is UK size 12.that fact can be disputed ofcourse!!

~I believe US sizes are always 4 sizes smaller!! Sooo a UK size 14 = US size 10


~For the Fashion Industry to take on & Display different sizes of mannequins will be a true representative of the various size women out there tho!!


~While i wasnt able to find a curvy size 14 mannequin{Also known as Dummies!} . . .here's a couple of pics of mannequins you'd normally see displayed in stores or store windows!!

~I have never seen a mannequin in a plus size shop!! Now that you mentioned it!! shocked As far as am aware,We havent had the pleasure of seeing a plus sized mannequin in A-N-Y store here in the UK ,this trial will be a first!!It's no wonder its causing such a hoo-haa!!

~On hangers!! Sometimes there's a blown up catalogue pic of the trend stuck on the window - I wont be surprised if they use a regualr size mannequin & clip it at the back . . .am going to have to check when i go past Evans,lol just so am not talking out of my arse tongue
