I'd advice you go for your ND to gain practical knowledge since you're aiming to study engineering. But for other disciplines i wouldn't advice such.
Polytechnic is a good stepping stone for any aspiring engineering student. i speak from experience

I will advise you to go for pre-degree, thereafter proceed to university. I am not discriminating, but with the reality on ground between poly and uni students in employment opportunities I won't advise anyone to go to poly, when they have other choice. Please forget about all those practicals peeps keep on mentioning you will receive when you go to poly.

Hell no, you're not too old. I know of a guy that gained admission at 19 and graduated 26(spilling things) *Not making fun though*. Its how well not how fast or how far. I will advise you go for ND because you can realize too soon that you've not made much progress if you fail to make the cut-off mark. Pre degree these days are even more competitive than post ume and no won employs a pre-degree holder(that's if you hold anything sef) and you can also use ND for direct entry into uni sef

I advise you get an ND,pre degree will not offer you any certificate and if you don't meet the cut off ,you will still be at the same point.

Lots of poly now offer part time ND for 2yrs which makes it easy to do direct entry or still try luck with Jamb along the line, you are assured of an ND certificate to proceed for HND.

Remember,Bsc and HND dichotomy is about to be passed into law,if it becomes law then,HND and Bsc holders will be at par.

Dear the little advice we can give is already before u. its now left for u to look carefully at it,think about all that u see and make a choice on your own

Op predegree is not an assurance of admission so prepare for jamb &pume as early as possible
Cos in some schools even as a PD student u are required to take jamb, last year I lost my admission chance and was advice to take up predegree but was informed that I would also take jamb that's a waste of resources ,time and energy just strive to make it thru jamb
Even direct is not an assurance of admission space tho I knw no much abt it.

Brother pre degree in any school is legit!..just make sure u enta their cut off and u sue them if they don't admit u then....no go poly o...once u enta u 4get about jamb...
