This guy post dey make me reason Access Bank mehn! I've been very skeptical about them being a good employer and I'm still not convinced they are one.

1. I ask myself; why do they require a successful applicant to get customers to open accounts of up to 2Million naira before he or she is admitted into the Training school? First, Zenith, Diamond, Guarantee Trust are very strong banks in Nigeria and they don't require that during recruitment. Can't Access survive without it?

2. The two-year training bond: I learnt their training school is the best in the banking sector. That is not enough for them to tie me down for 24 months. I hate the fact that they can dump me but I can't dump them. They also claim one will have to pay a sum of 2 Million naira if he or she decides to leave before 2 years. My question is: Is the training worth 2Million naira? An MBA programme in the best Business school in Nigeria is about that sum. Why the whole 2 Million shakara?

3. I got to know that after graduating from Training School, An Access employee will still be given on-the-job marketing targets even when he or she is not in the marketing unit. Why that for goodness sake? I think there's something called specialization in Economics?

4. Why do they recruit everyday? Is their employee turnover that high? If it's so high, then that's a really bad omen.

Those are my concerns but the way you've be talking, you seem to have some very good reasons why a spirited fresh graduate should start his career at Access. If you can convince me, I'll sign up for the hiring process immediately.

I asked the question in head office 2dy. D hr said its advisable that d money remains in the accounts till when u enter training school to be on d safe side because you don't know when access bank will decide to check the accounts.

1. The bank is a strong capitalist. I understand but then, the high unemployment rate has given room for employers of labour to exploit job-seekers.. I as well don't understand the rationale behind asking a person uve not offered employment to source for funds for ur org. Here's the gist, the bank gives their staffs target quarterly, its called 'access unite'...givin targets to job seekers is bolaji's own way of meetin her target. I'm sure u guys were given a code u r to tag the account to, dats bolaji's no...

2. The bank claims its worth 2million. Like u said, d bank's trainin skul is d best in d industry...as access bank trainee, u become attractive to other banks who did not invest a single bit on ur skills development but are willing to pay a higher price for ur services. Without the training bond access bank who has invested in ur training may easily lose their money to other banks competing for ur new found skills and that I believe is not fair
Access bank just like many companies measure returns in terms of the amount of time that the employee is able to utilize the new skill at work, hence companies require employees to enter into an agreement for the employees to return the investment through service tenure. And mind u, some banks in nigeria bond their staffs.

Mind you, u can leave the bank within two years, but not to other banks I know a number of guys that have left access bank to other organisations (but not banks)

3. I'm quite worried about this as well. But I heard d staffs have been complainin bitterly abt dis, makin complaints to d management. Hopefully d bank management wil scrap this by january.

4. Access bank stresses their staffs than any other bank, and they currently the highest paying bank. But u shudnt b too worried abt dis, u stil young, fresh blood. If u aint ready to stress ursef now to get dat 'armed robber' salary dat no company is ready to pay a fresh grad like u,when do u tink is d best time fo u..

Access bank will mould u and prepare for the toughest challenges u wil ever come accross in bankin industry and beyond...its only in access bank u wil see a 26yr old person managing a branch

Just see it as a means to an end
I like your response.

I observed you attribute so much importance to that pay( it's below 250K my brother). Employees/Prospective employees shouldn't be given such crazy conditions because of a pay below 250K.

Who is Bolaji? And why should an employee be allowed to use recruitment process to meet her own marketing targets? This doesn't sound possible and if it is, I'll say it's the most PREPOSTEROUS thing I've seen in 2014.

its cool, tough sometimes. Its basically application questions. U just hav to b a fast learner wit gud metacognition...coz u need to read up a 4mnth uni course in 2 to 3days. 'Not enough time to read a lot.'

Ppl hav bn survivin tho, ppl wit no finance bakground, I mean d art and science graduate excel better than d cinarellas of bankin, I mean econs, acctin grads.

If dis was d way I read bak in uni, then I wil finish wit a 1st class....

Good morning dear, I applied for its Graduate Trainee but wasn't called. Although I was in still in service but in d batch C dat just passed out. Also I don't know if it was as a result of double applications submission because I did the online submission before jobberman later called me dat I met d requirement for Access Bank Graduate Trainee and that I should send them my C.V which I later ignorantly submitted to them. Also I will like u to send me a copy of your bank C.V format type.
THanks bro
