That's a great Agricultural Innovation. Was studying on how to modify the Zeer Pot technology(invented by a Nigerian School Teacher). Am currently taking on course on Post Harvest loss Management with the Post Harvest Foundation, U.S.A and I tell you this is indeed helpful to me. Thanks so much! 2 Likes |

This is most beneficial for Export, also the shelf life can be prolonged even further by refridgerating a day to enclosure |

wow! This is awesome, I have read of the zeer pot, charcoal cooler and zero energy cooling chamber from a blog that educates people on how to develop technology like this with local materials and at affordable prices. Check it out http://www.gricd.com.ng/2017/08/21/zeer-pot-affordable-local-storage-technology-for-tomato-preservation/ http://www.gricd.com.ng/2017/08/28/building-a-zero-energy-cooling-chamber-an-affordable-local-storage-technology-for-perishable-food/ 1 Like |

Has anyone experimented on this idea or other methods like the zeer pot? Is it possible to domesticate these ideas or scale them up? |

Pavore9: I have a project that will require low temperature (16-20°C) over many months. I was considering the zeer pot kinda system, but the old women that produced clay pots in my area have gone to the great beyond. How cold can the system above be? I am looking at making a whole room with this material. But I think a prototype will be helpful. |
