There is nothing like right age difference. All that is required is 'clicking and working'. I almost lost what later turnedout to be the reason i love life to what they termed ridiculous age difference.

Nigerians just like age BS,age is just a count,George Clooney is in his 50s,a good looking guy,got married to a girl in her 20's,and he still fits in among youths,Salman Khan is an Indian actor,almost 50,good looking,single,boyish and you'd think he's in his 20's if he's among youths,I'm in my 20's and who told you I can't date a lady of Halle Berry's age,that looks just like Halle Berry(beautiful with baby face that makes her look 20's),with mindset of a girl in her 20's

Trust me, on the average, psychologically, females mature faster than males their age and it's one of the reasons they seek males are older than them but youthful at heart enough to still connect with them.
For me, I've once dated a female who's 4 years older than myself...and I would have settled for her if things went according to plan.
My point is: If both lovers can still connect with each other on several planes, then whatever age difference that gulfs them is relatively insignificant.
BUT THEN AGAIN, I'VE BEEN ON THIS TERRAFORMA FOR ONLY TWENTY-SOMETHING ODD YEARS - I AM NO SAGE.

Age is not really important to me

As long as the person I'm dealing with has that sense of maturity with a clear perspective of life, then I'm good to go.

I can date a guy who is 2-3 years younger than I am.

the lowest age a guy could date... is 1/2 his age plus 7

if he is 20.. he could date 17
if he is 24.. he could date 19

if he is 28 he could date 21
if he is 30 he could date 22

if he is 40 he could date 27

if he is 50 he could date 32
