2015 Election. To Vote Or Not? by Lolmoi(f): 1:56pm On Nov 02, 2014
The 2015 election is around the corner and I know that some people are planning not to vote. Let me reverse that decision of urs by saying dt; Democracy has bin defined by Abraham Lincoln as the govt of the pple, by the pple nd for the pple bt dt is not wat is practiced in Nigeria; where democracy is the govt of some pple by some pple. Why? because some Nigerians av refused to vote, dey av refused to give a voice to their opinion bt clearly, d easiest way to av a saying in how ur society is bin governed is by voting in elections bt if u refuse to vote next year it means u donot av a right to comment on how the society is being governed especially wen it is being misgoverned because ur vote could av made a difference, u mite want to say dt dis is a cliche bt statistics by INEC has proven dt
many local elections are decided by just a single, solitary or mere handful of votes. This shows that ur vote actually counts.
Voting in 2015 gives u d opportunity to elect nd re-elect govt officials that u want. Nd most importantly it gives u d opportunity to vote out of power d bad leaders that u do not want! Bt if u refuse to vote nxt year, u re increasing d chances of those bad leaders being re-elected into office. If ur reason for nt voting is because u ve bin disappointed by our prev leaders. Nxt yr election gives d opportunity to vote in pple with fresh nd new ideas that will help heal d damages that their predecessors av done. Voting is the right that our founding fathers av worked nd sacrificed everything for, late chief Nnamdi Azikwe, late chief Obafemi Awolowo, late Chief Ahmadu Bello. All dis pple av sacrificed everything to make sure dt we av true democracy nd there can never be a democracy without voting infact voting is d cornerstone of democracy. Nd true democracy demands d involvement of its citizens, other wise in d absense of that, there is no d emocracy at all. Your vote is wat Nigeria is waiting for. GO CAST YOUR VOTE

True that but most people believe that its useless going out to vote and in the process risking your life as the election period is often characterized by violence knowing that your vote doesn't count and most of parties do not present credible candidates. I think when the democratic process in Nigeria is matured and people have the right mindset that elections are not a do or die affair, more people will embrace it and exercise their franchise.
