Notice those blue tick marks in WhatsApp? Well, the developers have finally added the much requested feature which confirms that the message has been read by the recipient.

The ever growing and hugely popular messaging platform, WhatsApp has added a simple, yet very useful and much requested feature. After sending a private message to a contact, you will know once the message has been read. WhatsApp used to confirm the delivery of the message with grey colored double tick, but now, the blue colored double tick confirms that the message has been opened by the contact.

You can also long-press on the message to find the exact time when the message was read by tapping on the message info button. While most users should be happy with this latest update, some might find it a bit too intrusive. As of now, there’s no option to turn this feature off (like it’s the case with ‘last seen’ status).
Please note that if you don’t see the blue double tick marks, it could be because your message has not been read yet or your contact’s WhatsApp app is outdated or you or the recipient is experiencing connection issues.
