Nigerian leaders always getting their priorities wrong since 1959. Billions of Naira spent on a stadium whereas maternal mortality is still high. No basic amenities of life no pipe borne water pry schools look like shanties no basic learning tools. How many well equipped pry health centres so they have in AK state. We need to fix basic thing before doing this. This is like America trying to go to the moon when many cities have untarred roads?
grin grin grin......truth!

Ok, time will tell. I will remind you of this statement when we start getting the news that this stadium is overrun with weeds.

The stadia has already been concessioned

Oga forget that thing! One of our major problems as Africans is our tendency to downplay our own accomplishments while lauding inexorably everything that comes out of the West.

Granted that our society has an institutionalised problem with maintenance culture, but one is constrained to ask whether we need study the template offered by the Olympic stadium to know what to do with a new stadium built at a very massive cost?

Is it not time we began to initiate a change of attitude towards Nigeria and her leaders? You see, it is wrong to assume whatever happens here has a negative default value. There are a lot of Nigerians getting it right in various spheres of human endeavour. Let us build on their examples instead of toeing the line of the Western media who invariably report negativity about Africa most of the time.

If you become a state governor in whatever part of Nigeria today and you have 40 billion naira, and the first thing you think to do is spend all to build stadium, then goodluck to you.

It stadium, not stadia (stadia is plural). I wasn't arguing with you, I said we will revisit this later, when the stadium is overgrown with weeds.

I totally agree with you in a way but the things you listed should be done is the least of the state problems
1. Health - the state can boost of general hospitals in all LG, good number of primary HEALTH care center and Teaching hospital and a brand new specialist hospital.

2. Roads - one of the states in NIGERIA that can boast of the best road network. New ones still under construction.

3. Education - Free primary education up to secondary school, during his first tenure most of the schools across the state was reconstructed. The state also pays WASSCE AND NECO fees for all jss and sss students in public schools.

Gives primary school pupils #100 daily and secondary school students 200 #

4. Water - most cities have pipe borne water but Due to taxes, citizens prefer providing themselves water through bore holes

I think have touched the areas you mentioned.
The state needs companies and industries

It is safe to say the OP is talking thru the perspective of a starved man, but he is not far from the truth either. The stadium may not beat some of the ones in SA and Angola, but it's sure a world class with a difference if the word 'Nigeria' is to be a factor

who is more starved than a man that has refused to see the truth nor acknowledge developmental stride by an opposition.

Another white elephant project with no direct impact on the people. How many times will the stadium be used in a year? Build factories instead where the people can work everyday of the year.

where in the world has the government bin responsible for building factories?
are u just writing because u feel u can write?
