Why Mothers Should Be More Honoured And Respected Than Fathers. by olowodaran(m): 6:49am On Nov 08, 2014
A mother love for her children can not be measured, except wicked mothers probably never felt the pains of childbirth, these are my reasons why mum are to be held in high esteem.

1. GIVING YOU FOOD AND SHELTER FOR 9 MONTHS...> WHEN YOU DON'T KNOW IF YOU EXIST, SHE HOUSED YOU FOR OVER 9 MONTHS, MAKING HER UNCOMFORTABLE FOR 9 MONTHS.

2. THE PAINS OF CHILDBIRTH...> AFTER THE 9 MONTHS. SHE EXPERIENCE UNIMAGINABLE PAINS GIVING BIRTH TO YOU, YOU MAKE HER SCREAM AND CRY, IT'S A MATTER OF LIFE AND DEATH.

3. TAKING CARE OF YOU...> EVEN AT A TENDER AGE, SHE WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU, WASH YOUR CLOTHES, DEFECATE AND URINATE ON HER YET SHE SMILES AND CLEAN UP THE MESS.

4. SHE BREASTFEED YOU...>SHE WILL BREASTFEED YOU, SOMETIMES YOU EVEN BITE HER.

5. SHE PREPARES YOU FOR SCHOOL AND HELP YOU WITH SCHOOL WORK...> SHE GET YOU DRESSED FOR SCHOOL AND ALSO HELP WITH SCHOOL WORK, LIKE ASSIGNEMENT

6. SHE PREPARE FOOD FOR YOU...> EVEN AFTER YOU ARE SENSIBLE SHE STILL PREPARE FOOD FOR THE HOUSE.

7. YOU ARE CLOSE TO HER...> SHE IS UR BEST FRIEND COS SHE KNOWS UR LIKES AND EVEN YOUR SECRETS WHILE YOUR DAD KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT IT.

8. DAD HARDLY CARES...> HIS SOLE RESPONSIBILITY IS TO PROVIDE FOR THE FAMILY, WHEN HE COMES FROM WORK, HE DEMAND ABSOLUTE SILENCE WHILE HE CONCENTRATE ON HIS NEWSPAPER...

MUM STILL REMAIN THE BEST...

You have a good topic. But it is low on quality.
Even if what you posted are basically true, I'm still not convinced on the bias.

All my hospital visits and lots more as a child was with my dad, i really don't know where you got this from OP. Some dads are useless from the stuffs I have heard though.

Both parents should be loved and respected equally.

It's not fair to be biased - it serves no good. Just as some men have shortcomings, some women do too. It's what makes us human and imperfect.

Your experience is not a yardstick. I had a great time with my father. He used to bathe me, read me bedtime stories, take me out for treats, help with my home work, bring home ice cream, etc.

If your father cared less for you then that is your own experience it does not mean every father neglected their role.

This is the kind of sentiments the emotional masculinist entitled divas of NL want to use to avoid doing work in the home and gullible unintelligent women will fall for this crap. This is why they want their wives to suffer, run around like a headless chicken and continue being the entitled brats they are, because their mothers did the same.
Times have freaking changed and every damn hand must be on deck in rearing a child and doing house work.
I honor both of my parents, but I prefer my fatherrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!! Whipping up the typical sentiments of how you pushed in the labor room has never worked on me. I'm a practical person, sentiments don't work on me.
Daddy's girl times a million in the house!!!!!!!!!!! tongue cheesy

Every good parent should be honored abeg.
Only God knows how many fathers have died from the pressure of trying to provide shelter, housing and education for their kids. You think some of our fathers wore worn out suits and just.2 shirts because they loved it? No it was because they put you first, your school fees was much more important than a new shoe for him.

Granted some fathers were not there to pet, kiss and pet but they made sure that you went to bed with something to eat even if it meant them having nothing that night.

So please no role is less worthy of honor, every good parent should be honored.

While she carried you for nine months he was there to ensure she was healthy, fed ans disnt have swollen feet.

While she labored to bring you out he was praying, crying and having the highest blood pressure because for that day in his life he felt totally helpless, he couldnt take away her pain, he couldn't do some magic and make it all go away. He had no assurance that all will be fine
So when he held you he swore to protect you, hence in the sun, in the rain, in the wind he would go out not because he wanted to but because he needed to so you wouldnt have to beg, starve or lack anything.

Now fathers are more involved they also wake up and feed the baby, the only thing they dont do is carry a baby but believe me if they could they would because that is the love of the father, willing to lay down his life for his family without a second thought

Op, please, change this mindset of yours asap. Both parents deserve honour and respect. Believing otherwise is dangerous, especially if you try to pass it on to your children.

I do not agree that respecting a parent is something to be 'rewarded' , ie according to whether they deserve it or not. It is unconditional, according to the Bible. It does nor fall in line with the popular parlance, "respect begets respect' meaning, just do your part if you want God's blessings.

there are other people posting on the thread, if any group of people need to hype any other nler, you can create separate threads to do so.

Possibly you have people reading these threads who you want to recommend certain nlers to, no need to derail with offtopic comments in that case.

Just open another thread for your recommendations instead of all following each other like sheep.

Yes! I appreciate him every day after reading posts from people whose fathers allowed their mum to suffer, age before her time and pass it off as 'African culture' with the intention to continue the tradition of frustrating the unsuspecting girl they marry. No wonder African women have this stern look on their faces. grin grin grin

stop shifting the blame....
african women have always had the stern & murderous looks on their faces. we just saw faces of the miss NL contest & many of them are single & young - which husband made their faces look that stern? spiritual husbands?

men don't do house chores where i come from. it's strictly a feminine activity. all i did was to sleep, eat, drink, play, sleep and eat again. who has time for chores? house chores create effeminate men.....this is why you see many husbands these days demanding their wife pay 50% of the bills.

house chores have emasculated them. grin

Stern looks are not in our DNA. It is as a result of environmental influences. If we were dealing with oyibo men we would not be stern. But we are dealing with African men, Nigerian men. Bloody hell! For example, growing up in Nigeria I was a jolly, little, go lucky child until Naija men did not let me rest everywhere I turned. I had to develop my stern, angry face to keep them off before I bring home a bastard! cool cool cool cool You black men don't waste time to give your women little bastards to bring to the world. So I have to be extra extra careful. cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy

Of course you boys don't do chores, that is why the stern face will continue. Oyibo men do chores that's why their women are always smiling and easy to talk to.
