The Nation Reporter Kidnapped In Aba by Blitz4real(m): 2:58am On Nov 18, 2014 |
Gunmen have abducted a journalist, Mr. Ugochukwu Ugorji-Eke, the Umuahia correspondent of The Nation Newspapers. The incident occurred at about 7:30p.m. on Sunday while the journalist was returning to his house in his car. It was gathered that Mr. Eke had earlier in the day gone to visit some family members, but as he was returning home, unknown to him, the gunmen had laid in wait in front of his house behind Toengine Crescent off Ovom Road, Ogbor Hill, Aba. As he approached the front gate of his house, the hoodlums were said to have forced him out of his car at gunpoint and ordered him into their own waiting car. An eyewitness said after the gunmen had forced their victim into their car, they whisked him away to an unknown destination, abandoning his car in front of his gate. The kidnappers were said to have contacted family members of their victim and demanded a ransom of N20 million. Source;www.sunnewsonline.com/new/?p=91414 |
