Nigeria: The Cause And Solution To Her Problems – Gej, Us Military And Bokoharam by Nobody: 5:29pm On Nov 19, 2014 |
Today’s analysis is centred on the numerous unanswered questions about the US military, Boko Haram and president GEJ. Just last week the Nigerian Ambassador to the US, Prof. Ade Adefuye said that the US is unwilling to assist the Nigerian government with the much needed weapons and technology to combat Boko Haram. He further stated, “We find it difficult to understand why with the US presence in Nigeria and with all their sophisticated military technology Boko Haram is still expanding and becoming more deadly 1].” We at Naija Politica know that this same question is being asked by many up till this day. It has become crystal clear that our professor is either ignorant or chooses to turn a deaf ear to the happening around him let alone the reason why they are happening. FOR THOSE WHO NEVER KNEW: 1. US always availed Nigeria the list of the Boko Haram sponsors. Immediately after the United Nation House bombing in Abuja in august 26th 2011, the US military officials indicted high level friends of government executives, legislative ,senior party officials, elder statesmen, and security officials including the retired ones to be sponsors of Boko Haram. Our dear president was expected to act immediately but instead he acted out of fear and decides to appeal to their conscience. Am in no doubt that ‘these Boko Haram sponsors’ are actually his political sponsors. Having exploited his weaknesses they sought to make hell out of Nigeria. 2. After the Madallah Christmas day bombing which claimed over 80 lives, GEJ was still too slow to act. After about 2 weeks, a battered, fraustrted and defeated Jonathan came and made for the first time a declaration saying that the Boko Haram sponsors have infiltrated the government [2]. 3. Military authorities, then under General Owiye Azazi as NSA and General Azubuike Ihejirika as chief of army staff including other senior chiefs pushed for the arrest of these sponsors. However with the 2015 election festive and permutations in progress their blood ran cold and they were tempted to have a share of their own ‘National Cake’. Gen. Azazi being as frustrated as anyone with such knowledge would be, exposed the Boko Haram sponsors in PDP at Asaba[3] after which he was hounded till Jonathan was forced to sack him as NSA and he was replaced by a northerner. Contrary to advices he - Gen. Azazi- received to stay away from the affairs of GEJ, he continued to gallivant around Jonathan probing deeper into his affairs until he met his untimely death. Obviously it’s clear that his death was master minded by the so called ‘Boko Haram sponsors’ who plotted a helicopter accident for him[3a] 4. Nigerians outburst for the release of 276 Chibok girls who were kidnapped attracted yet again the aid of the US military officials. However what the US military officials saw on ground as regard the high level sabotage and corruption bordering Boko Haram was more than enough for the Nigeria government to limit the input of resources and troops as these ‘resources’ always fell into the hands of the insurgents and jeopardize the operation even before take-off. All these were duly noted by the US military intelligence and defence analysts and advisers. What has the US done for Nigeria? Most are asking: what in God’s name has the US done for us as regards the fight against Boko Haram? The following might help you. 1. The US brought to the world’s attention that 10 Nigerian Government generals were involved in passing classified and sensitive information to Boko Haram. 2. The US military officially made valid the information passed to them by locals in Borno, that Boko Haram had split the chibok girls into three groups taking them to three different camps [4]. 3. The US advised the Nigerian government that due to the high degree of sabotage and corruption in the Nigerian government, the only way to rescue the girls was through highly powered negotiations which Obasanjo knew about. Without which, the lives of both the girls and the troops whether Nigerian or US would be at risk if a rescue attempt was carried out. 4. The US military after series of inspections and interaction with ranks in the Borno 7th Division -which was created to contain the insurgency-, alerted their home country that there is a deliberate attempt to issue inadequate ammunition to the troops, thereby making them easy targets for the insurgents. 5. The US intelligence also uncovered that funds which were released for the welfare of the troops ended up into the pockets of some mentioned politicians. 6. The US discovered that in barracks where there is constant and increase supply of ammunitions just like in Bama – a town in Borno State (Mohammed kur barracks) - that high ranking officers deliberately mislead their troops to abandon their positions including caches of weapons and Amory thereby making it easy for the insurgents to access these weapons. The fall of bama as regards the above is still a continuous discussion within the military circles till date[5]. The fall of the prestigious police mobile training facility in Gwoza [6] - Local Government Area of Borno State- made the Nigerian police lose their faith and pride. This facilitated the fall of Bama by the insurgents. 7. It’s still a wonder to us( naija politica) and to every well informed Nigerian including the US military how every weapon which belongs to the Nigerian army easily fall into the hands of Boko Haram. The US is still investigating the matter. Could it be that the Nigerian army ‘intentionally’ donates or sell their weapons to these insurgents behind closed doors? 8. The grand welcoming of the political founder of Boko Haram and the former Governor of Borno state, Ali Modu Sherrif [7], by the PDP and how an entire airport which was shut down for months in the name of “security reason” was opened up for him was a huge political mistake by President Goodluck This was a puzzle put together by the US intelligence. 9. US officials were the ones who tipped South Africa about the illegal acquisition of arms by the Nigerian government and that the weapons will sooner than later fall into the hands of Boko Haram. 10. The US believes that until Jonathan rises up against the corruption and high-level sabotage in his very government, they cannot risk sending troops to Nigeria to help combat the insurgents. If their troops were captured this would mean that a different chapter of war would be unleashed. 11. The US also believes that if the Nigerian government would tackle corruption, unemployment and poverty then the level of insurgency would decrease drastically. IN CONCLUSION We at Naija politica believe the Nigerian government know why the US has refused to either send troops or sell weapons to them. Our well learned professor should learn to get his facts right before jumping into hasty conclusion about US not wanting to help Nigeria. There is more to Boko Haram than meets the eye. Like Gen. Sani Abacha said, “if insurgency lasts more for than 24 hours then the Government has a hand in it”. Does the President want the killings to continue as he’s presenting himself for re-election? The wisest thing to do, for the sake of our children, his children and your children, is for him not to seek re-election and let’s bring somebody that will not trigger reaction from any section of Nigeria. We are neither for the US government or the Nigerian government but at the same time it is good to actually know the truth about certain events to avoid being biased or myopic in decision making.
