i recently decided to advance my knowlegde on java and decided to download some ebooks to read. but i noticed that each of the book i downloaded made mention of javafx so i decided to read more on it . and to my suprise , i found a gui library which could definately replace swing because of its simplicity flexibility and great ui design concepts . So i started to wonder why i have never heard of it . is it that it has support limitations or what .

because GUI or desktop apps hv low traffic here. Trust me if was a mobile or web library hmmm......

I learnt it too, it is very cool and resembles web application. But the truth is that application development here especially with JAVA is not selling here o jare.

Java desktop development isn't so vibrant here(NL). Try world renowned forum like StackOverflow.com
That aside i have read some places where they complain about JavaFx having issues.

the world is going enterprise, even web applications r behaving better than desktop applications. with the use of ajax, nothing is far fetched.

The stress is not worth it, after i considered it. I will rather do a web ui with regular html5, and use ehm what is it called - node webkit to package it as some kind of desktop app. Yeah, that works on linux and windows as well.
