Re: The Soul Thread! ! ! ! ! by iice(f): 4:18am On Nov 29, 2008 |
A-40: Hah, yeah i love them. They are so funky to me. Last song i heard of theirs was with Talib. I don't know if they are working on a new album or taking a break. Nice one @ the Al Green track i like his songs |
Re: The Soul Thread! ! ! ! ! by A40(m): 4:45am On Nov 29, 2008 |
Wow i loved that song its pretty old though must have been made at least 4 years back There is this song I see you doing it or something like that i can't remember the name but Talib was on the song too i am trying to remember if it was them or some other girls |
Re: The Soul Thread! ! ! ! ! by doyin13(m): 10:52am On Nov 29, 2008 |
Les Nubians I did hear one of their tracks with Talib. . . . Is that the 'Love Language' tune perhaps? |
Re: The Soul Thread! ! ! ! ! by iice(f): 10:56am On Nov 29, 2008 |
Not love language. There is another one. Is that the only track you have listened to of theirs? @A-40, it probably is them. He usually makes songs with them, Res and Floetry. |
Re: The Soul Thread! ! ! ! ! by Wordsmith(m): 1:01pm On Nov 29, 2008 |

Re: The Soul Thread! ! ! ! ! by A40(m): 2:35am On Nov 30, 2008 |
@iice I like their fusion of French and they just sounded unique back in the day.I am looking for that song i swear i am just not sure of the name and its not Temperature Rising i got that one already @Wordsmith Nice selection |
Re: The Soul Thread! ! ! ! ! by iice(f): 12:25pm On Nov 30, 2008 |
@A-40 Ahhh they still sound unique to me. I used to think they were Africans (well on their mother's side, and not taking into account history) because of they way they dressed and their videos. I just love their vibe. Maybe it is Love Language as Doyin mentioned. I recently read that they will be coming out with a new album. Can't wait. |
Re: The Soul Thread! ! ! ! ! by A40(m): 12:40pm On Nov 30, 2008 |
@iice I have not heard them in a while! have they come out with anything new? they are half-camerounians by the way maybe its Love Language probably the song i am referring to Talib did it someone else |
Re: The Soul Thread! ! ! ! ! by iice(f): 12:57pm On Nov 30, 2008 |
Yeah, i thought they were just french. Their last album was in '05. Too long to go without their music. Last i read was they were amongst others participating in an album 'In the name of Love' - a tribute to U2 and bono on their humanitarian efforts towards Africa |
Re: The Soul Thread! ! ! ! ! by A40(m): 1:03pm On Nov 30, 2008 |
Yeah i think they made just two albums or so i am not exactly sure i am awaiting their new album B.T.W: Do you listen to Kimberlite Zouk those ones are not Soul Musicians sha |

@iice, Do You Feel Me, Dear Life, Charlene, Cool? Temperature Rising & Love Language are the only songs I know of in which Les Nubians & Talib collaboed. |

Re: The Soul Thread! ! ! ! ! by iice(f): 2:26pm On Dec 03, 2008 |
Bamsyle: it prolly is them and someone else , these days i don't keep track, too many things to listen to. How's the venturing out to other types of music working out? Something with Cornbread lol. But Charlene is cool too. I like Sade's King of Sorrow |
Re: The Soul Thread! ! ! ! ! by doyin13(m): 2:39pm On Dec 03, 2008 |

Re: The Soul Thread! ! ! ! ! by Bamsyle(m): 3:44pm On Dec 03, 2008 |
*Maybe with Blackthought of the Roots ("Tabou" or Black Eyed Peas "On My Own" (feat. Les Nubians & Mos Def)?* Aww, was wishing you won't ask that question. It's working out slowly - and that's being euphemistic! I might exit this thread soon - I'm not a soul music guru but you keep encouraging me lol I love the realness/freshness in Amy's Rehab. John Legend's Save Room is a great track for me too. |
Re: The Soul Thread! ! ! ! ! by iice(f): 4:19pm On Dec 03, 2008 |
Yeah maybe B.T.W totally love The Roots and Mos Def Ahhh i will keep pushing you towards other kinds of music till you quit I liked Rehab too but Tears Dry On My Own is my favorite Currently on Duffy's Album and am loving her soulful voice! Stepping Stone is my favorite at the moment |
Re: The Soul Thread! ! ! ! ! by Bamsyle(m): 4:40pm On Dec 03, 2008 |
You're a dearie Mos Def, Talib, Common, The Roots - those guys are soulful rappers if y'know wha' I mean You mean till I quit rap? Nah, cest nes pas possible. . . Haven't listened to "Tears Dry On My Own", soon I will. And all of a sudden L. Boogie (Lauryn Hill) appears in me mind. The "Miseducation of Lauryn Hill" is a classic mesh of hip hop, R n B & Soul. *Humming "Forgive 'em Father for they know not what they do. . . That thing, that thing, that thiiiing"* |
Re: The Soul Thread! ! ! ! ! by iice(f): 4:55pm On Dec 03, 2008 |
Hehehe i know what you mean No, not till you quit rap (am a rap fan ) till you quit trying out other music Hmmmm, that was quite an album. There is a track there, but i don't remember. Aside from Zion i mean. I don't know why i feel this song lyrics are not so tight Sleep like a child - Joss Stone |
Re: The Soul Thread! ! ! ! ! by Bamsyle(m): 5:37pm On Dec 03, 2008 |
Ok, kind of you'll make me shop till I drop . . . yeah right. Can't contest sha, I don't hold a candle to you on World Music y'know Maybe it's "Nothing Even Matters" (with D'Angelo) or "I Used to Love Him" (with MJB) |
Re: The Soul Thread! ! ! ! ! by iice(f): 7:08pm On Dec 04, 2008 |
