He must be devastated. The ball he threw killed another man. 22 year old Bowler Sean Abbott, whose bouncer hit Philip Hughes in a freak accident on November 25th pictured above being comforted as he left St Vincent's Hospital today after the 25 year old was confirmed dead.

Sean is said to be inconsolable, though he's getting a lot of support from family, friends and fans of late Philip Hughes. Nobody blames him for his death.

Ironic. For a moment, you'd think he'll be charged for involuntary manslaughter.

Three elements must be satisfied in order for someone to be found guilty of involuntary manslaughter:

Someone was killed as a result of act by the defendant.
The act either was inherently dangerous to others or done with reckless disregard for human life.
The defendant knew or should have known his or her conduct was a threat to the lives of others.

1. Phillip Hughes was killed
2. Cricket is an inherently dangerous sport, as everyone knows
3. Sean Abott should have known that throwing that ball at that speed could kill a man

The things we love most, cause us the most pain. Am sure he never thought a game he loved so much would take his life.

It is not JUST a cricket game. We, who played the game in college know that just a little lack of concentration can send one to his grave.

The softer ball used for beginners is in itself capable of knocking one cold if it hits one's skull travelling at high speed.

If you play cricket, you would know it is dangerous. Although, it is good that the batsman batting at the time wears protective gears. But my coach never encouraged that during training.

There is no sport that does not have its own degree of danger. Peter cech had to have emergency brain surgery after he was kicked on the head in a match. Bianchi is still in a coma after the accident he had while driving in formula one. You see people with serious injuries in Basketball, horse riding e.t.c It is a pity that the young man died but that is the nature of sports. Anything can happen at any time. I just wonder if Abbot will ever be able to play cricket again.

Have been bitten by cricket before? If yes, you'll know how dangerous cricket can be in/off pitch. Rip to the dead.
