Ok..
Ladies and gentlemen...
On behalf of the tutor-generals here, I welcome you to this educative thread..
To start with, I shall post all the topics you are expected to know very well in chemistry before you walk in to your exam center..
The next post shall therefore contain the syllabus in sequential order..
I want to assure you, that chemistry is fun and I wnt to assure you that you'll enjoy every bit of this class. Buh to achieve this, if the teacher is ready to teach the students too must be ready to learn(Theory of readiness). Learning cannot take place without the students getting prepared for the task ahead.

Prior to what we are gonna start with, I 'll imolore all Students, viewers and everybody learning here to have mastered some aspect of Basic Science. Let is open our mind to understanding and commit our heart to everything we learn here.

We stand to be corrected in everything we post.

Thank you as we continue.......

At least, everybody should av mastered d first 20 elements, with their corresponding symbols.

You can learn the first 30 elements too, I mean the first 10 members of d transition elements

Though we 've not started proper but I need to emphasize d fact that students and learners should get UTME past questions so as to get used the methods they use in setting their questions.

We have a very short time which means we always av to read ahead and we may likely skip some topics to take d most important and difficult topics.

Thanks as u comply.

Re: Nairaland Jamb Tutorial Centre {chemistry Thread} by DelePhd: 3:11pm On Nov 29, 2014
The preface of the book clearly stated the intent of the author. I teach Chemistry and this book has now become my lecture note. Remember, this is the same guy that wrote Explicit Biology. His books are the best I've seen on JAMB Biology and now Chemistry.

PREFACE
The idea to write a text like this came in the year 2005 when I was preparing some students for SSCE/JAMB examination. I would solve all past questions relevant to the topics in review with my students in a logical sequence. I reckoned that there should be a text in Chemistry written with such a style for an effective and easy preparation but there was none. However, there were already two classical books, ‘Integrated Mathematics’ and ‘The Science Physics’ both written by Afolabi J.R using this beautiful style I thought about. So, I took the challenge to write Explicit Chemistry.

Explicit Chemistry epitomizes my time-tested pedagogy of preparing students to perform excellently in their examinations for the last one decade. It is a robust revision text book that is rich in notes, questions and answers presented in a simple but effective style with the SSCE/JAMB syllabus in perspective through the chapters.

The purpose of this book is to assist student prepare adequately for their examination with confidence as I have come to the conclusion during the time of writing this book that examination preparation without solving the past questions as treated in this book is largely inchoate and could mean poor preparation. My observation is that questions are spread in a particular pattern every year across the five sections that I have divided this book in the content pages. They are as follows:

SECTIONS QUESTIONS
SECTION A: PROPERTIES OF MATTER 20 - 22
SECTION B: REDOX / ELECTROCHEMISTRY 3 - 4
SECTION C: CHEMICAL KINETICS 4 - 5
SECTION D: DESCRIPTIVE CHEMISTRY OF ELEMENTS 6 - 7
SECTION E: ORGANIC CHEMISTRY 10 - 12
TOTAL 50 QUESTIONS

Therefore, it is my strong conviction that students and teachers will find this text useful, and the nine years I have put in writing will be worth the while.

Helpful criticisms and suggestions are welcome.
