please hpw does Union Bank make their money - its certainly not mostly through retail banking.

Do people really patronise them that much as opposed to newer generation banks.

They make their money through retail banking of course. It may true that peolpe don't patronize them like new generation banks but if you want to succeed in business you can not do without the old generation banks because they give loans easily with low interest rate. That is the reason they still enjoy high degree of patronage.

thanks for this explaination too - I was also wondering due to the very high PAT they keep declaring - it must be primarily from loans then?

I wont personally bank with them in this day and age. just compare unionbankng.com and gtbplc.com and see the difference. grin
