the American army trained the iraqis after the fall of Sadam, they provided the iraqis with top notch military hardwares and logistics but it proved flawed when isis came brandishing ak-47 to overun the American trained iraqi army..even after such gross incompetence from the iraqis, the West is still sending drones to fight their battle for them. Nigeria is better off dealing with her problems by herself.it is obvious that help isn't coming from outside anytime soon.

Good move by the Nigerian govt. The USA is unwilling to help Nigeria in our time of need, We need military hardware to fight insurgency, Not physical combat training they are offering. Nigeria Has $1bn that its ready to pay for the hardware but the US refuses to sell them, citing some useless humanitarian laws, while they are selling same weapons to many rouge govts. and organization around the world.
They refuse to supply the experimental Z-Map that was helping their Ebola patients to Nigeria but we managed to control ebola without their help, God willing we will also conquer Boko haram without the help of USA, Nigeria needs to look to China and Russia for military help.
USA is not Nigeria's friend, A friend that pays lip service in your hour of need is not a good friend.

Good observation. It's a known fact that US is not good in land combat which explained why hundreds of their soldiers were killed like bats in Iraq. They lost more combatants than Britain in the heat of the war. Their greatest strength is area bombardment through sophisticated weapons which ironically they will never share with Nigeria. Anyway, it is probably America that terminated whatever military cooperation existed between America and Nigeria. Under Obama, America means Nigeria no good. Who knows, maybe the poor guy isn't at fault, he all but warned us with his repeated visits to Africa in which Nigeria was pointedly snubbed. And people shouldn't read too much into Obama also not visiting Kenya, the land of his father, because we don't know what help Obama gave Kenya behind the scenes.
