Africa was capitalism
Now Africa is imperialism.
Africa is a select few over a vast majority.
Africa is all that we see yet,
Africa is all that we do not see,
Africa is all around us,
Yet Africa is far from us.
Africa is unique,
Yet Africa is opaque.
Africa is poor
Yet Africa is rich.
Africa is white
Yet Africa is black.
Africa is our brothers and sisters
Who no longer know their roots,
Who feel shamed because of the color of their skin.
Africa is me and you who know our roots
And refuse to celebrate our culture and heritage.
Africa was that which was stolen
From us with colonialism and slave trade.
Africa is that which is imposed on us by our own brothers And sisters using nepotism and religious fanaticism.
Africa is our culture and heritage slowly being replaced
With western culture and value system.
African is oppression
And Africa is intimidation.
Africa is the poor looking up to her leaders
Who no longer care about the poor,
Africa is our leaders living in splendor
While the poor live in squalor,
Africa is our leaders squandering and laundering public funds to further fund their imperialistic tendencies.
Africa is our leaders signing back door treaties to further treat Africans to treatless treaties.
Africa is war
Africa is terrorism,
Africa is religious fanaticism and extremism
Continuously being mixed with all manner of mysticism
And atheism to see which reigns supreme.
Africa is extremism being fueled by terrorism
To bolster the aims of fanaticism.
Africa is that which we look upon and feel hopeless
Like the hopelessness of the Israelis of old.
Africa is me,
And Africa is you.
Africa is me and you continually raping and murdering Everything that is indeed Africa,
Arise oh Africa;
For we pray,
Uhuru may come one day.
