How Would You Reposition Nigeria If You Were President Come 2015 Elections. by PStacks(m): 1:47pm On Dec 02, 2014 |
Since Youths are the leaders of tommorow but tommorow never comes in Nigeria, then let the youths write their own essays on "what would be" if they were elected president, and give this essays to our leaders and see if the most wonderful youthful ideas can be adhered to. Hence I'm writing, What would I do, if I become president 2015. First of all, on the day of my inauguration, I would declare a Month of National Emergency. Everything and anything must come to a Stand still. I will create some sort of te le-conferencing, that everybody within the shores of Nigeria would be shown and give people, first, that sense of belonging. That type of teleconferencing they do at Shiloh, where people in Otta are seen in far away kaduna, kano, maiduguri and even abroad. I would do that, to conduct a more useful and unifying "National Conference" .. Everything would stop. Once that is achieved, then, people would talk, nigerians must talk truth and sense to themselves. Nigerians must agree if they love each other or do not. Nigerians must decide if they want to be together or not. Nigerians should from the grassroot tell themselves to awaken from their slumber. Nigerians must map a way out of this current predicament after all, she brought her self to this point unknowingly because she has failed to plan, when you fail to plan, you ultimately plan to fail. Nigerians must sit down and draw a plan for Nigeria. Nobody is Responsible for Nigeria, we the Youths must beg for forgiveness for the transgressions of our fathers but would fail history if we refuse to re-focus and re-direct this country. We must come out with a blue print and properly charted course for what we want as a nation. We must have just one law, we must talk about what is acceptable in "Nigeria", wethere it is under the Islamic law or the Christain law. Every nigerian must be subjected to only one law and that is the "Nigerian Law" We must chat new courses, what is obtainable to us now, all our choices are not pleasant, We must turn all the chaos we are surrounded with and turn them to strength for us or sit and watch the chaos consume the giant of Africa. If I were president today. Societally, Primary school cert and Secondary school cert of Yester years even weigh more than the B.sc's we have today, but be that as it may, with the precidented level of unemployment amongst the youth, every public servant working in any public office with anything within SSCE or Primary skol cert, I will give Compulsory Retirement and replace with a minimum of B.Sc. This is the reason. You see, every public office needs some sort of sensitisation to function in this century we live in. You see, every police man, that has only an SSCE or a Primary school cert, has no reason to be in the police in the first place. The police needs a crop of "Knowledgable mid-aged men". That way, all public offices would have some santity, All those that would go on compulsory retirement to pave way for the youths, would be assigned to specific FarmSteads, our economy Should never have been Import dependent. Our Ports are working, are the Ports only for Imports? What has Happened to Export? We must tell ourselves the truth, we are just lazy, greedy and corrupt people in a bunch and leadership has failed us. If we are not lazy, why don't we export? If we must export, we must work. Nigerians don't work, nothing works in nigeria. If we work, especially in Agriculture, we would sustain ourselves and sustain others, but as it stands we can't even sustain ourselves that's why we are an import dependent economy, Let's be truthful to ourselves, our only export is crude oil, what if God had not blessed us with crude oil? That's the question we should ask ourselves,.. Is crude oil now a blessing or a curse? I keep saying it, with all due respect to the minister of agriculture, we still import rice. The today's high youth unemployment, I would convert to the work force of the Nation, the industry, the drivers of the propelling engines of development, then those on compulsory retirement would channel all their might to Agricultural abundance. There would be a National emergency, because to drive growth, you must put in place Electricity. Before this emergency is over, Electricity, Housing and accomodation, Roads and health care issues are addressed and taken care of. If I'm president, I will de-congest Lagos.. Lagos is too chocked. I will spread development round the states equally, I will drive growth by competition, For peaceful and communual living, every state would compete, every state would be empowered. Every state will Produce.. This is it. Before monthly allocations by federal govt, every state would bring what it has to the table, and from whatever you bring, you will be given majority of the share. If the Niger-delta insists on bringing only proceeds from crude oil, they would be given a lion share of that proceed, let the South west indicates what she brings and be given the lion share, same with SE, NE, NW, NC. That way there can be abundance in the land, there would be stimulation for growth. Children would go to Free and Compulsory education, The aged would be placed on Social welfare and some sort of support from the center. There would be heavy and Mass, both Rural and urban, but mostly Rural Mass Housing Development. Every house would be entitle to electricity and portable water and good drainage-sewer system. People would develop free living attitudes. Ok, let's face it. Devaluation of the naira, Boko-Haram. Austerity, Falling Crude oil prices, Youth Restiveness and Unemployment. Poor infrastructure. Everything that is happening to nigeria now is terrible. People should from their imaginations stump up ideas on ways to bring this country from collapse to its one time enviable state as the giant of Africa and most populous Black Nation. Today, Nigeria is no more friends with America and terminated The deal for America to train Nigerian soldiers because America refused to sell Cobra fighter Helicopters to Nigeria to fight insurgence and Nigeria is quick to turn to Russia. Russia everybody knows is sworn enemies with America. For crying out loud, what is Nigeria turning into. An experimental ground for chaos? Sometimes, I think there's a grand conspiracy somewhere to destabilise this country. People have seen our greed, our weaknesses and vulnurability and has decided to cash-in on it. Damaturu is under Curfew, Boko-Haram Parties Everyday, More than 50 Trained Female Sucide Bombers are on the loose, What da hell mehn! Can we please get some decorum and civility in Nigeria. To me, if there is anything left to be salvaged in this country, I think we must first as a people agree we are falling, then we halt our free-fall, then we start to build a formidable Nation. Right now, we are falling and I weep for my country. People should recomend out of text-book theories they think can being this country back from the brinks. Great countries have been thru hell and back. We can re-write our History. Yes We Can! #OMA Foundation. |
