The State of Jersey, the biggest territory in the Channels Island, is set to return to Nigeria £315 million stolen by a former military head of state, Sani Abacha.

The Ballif of Jersey, Michael Birt, stated this at a dinner in honour of Nigerian High Commissioner to the UK, Dalhatu Tafida, during a State visit to the Island.

Mr. Birt, who doubles as the Island’s Civic Head of State and ceremonial head, is the highest ranking official in the Jersey order of precedence.

When they finally return the money, will one cup of garry drop to #5? If yes then its a nice move but if no, then they can all go swim the Indian Ocean.

it sure amazes me that we keep recovering stolen money But question when these monies are recoverd what are they used for. if it wouldn't add any value to our current state But would rather me engulfed by another greedy one.It's Just money changing owners from one man to another man. may God help us all

expect more hike in the price of petrol because we need ship the recovered money back to naija. Like those ones returned before as impact on the economy.

Discoveries like this only incite modern day polithiefcians to loot more as their thievery look like chicken change compared to Abacha loot.
