Mofo served in Ekiti but failed to see thousands of his brothers and sisters hawking/selling their fake products with wheel-barrow at Erekesan Market and of course Fayose market in Ado. In addition, those innocent and flat-headed children with pot bellies you see on our streets are your little brothers u know.

The same story in Akure; i presumed you didn't see thousands of your brothers and sisters who refused to go School under the pretence of one apprenticeship or d other in Akure and those your brothers nd sisters selling/hawking along Oba Adesida, Oja Isinkan and Nepa market...............

Let me stop here cos i could go on and on.............

Apparently, you are deliberately avoiding to counter the issues this guys have raised. The question wasn't whether his brothers n sisters are selling in those places, but they claimed that apart from lagos, no region or city in the south west can be compared to the south east. Hence, it would only be sensible if you could counter that argument head on and forget about attacking, abusing or avoiding the points rasied!

In summary Truthtela says, because some from the North and South West have ruled Nigeria and failed, it is okay to allow Jonathan to fail again.

He might be a political bigwig in the country but in his residence in Lagos, Mr. Jude Emeka Idimogu is a philan thropist with a distinction, a humble man to a fault. He has decided to contest for Lagos State Assem bly under the umbrella of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Oshodi- Isolo Constituency. He is from Imo State but has lived in Lagos for long, hence the decision for aspiring to be a legislator in the state. In this inter view, he speaks on various issues. Excerpts:

What prompted your aspiration to run for Lagos State Assembly?

I want to serve my community. They are in pain, all our representatives have failed to hear our cry. We are being deprived of a lot of things. It’s not the wherewithal but sometimes the will to do it; some of our representatives are so bad one can weep for us. But, by the special grace of God, if God gives me all the possibility to be there, I believe I will change lives positively for people. My lifestyle will make other politi cians, who have been there before to have a re-think to understand that being there is to serve humanity and to serve God.

Don’t you think to serve your com munity, there is no much to do from Lagos House of Assembly?

For now I want to take it from the grass roots; so I have decided to go for the Lagos House of Assembly from the grassroots; then from there, depending on how it goes, I will move forward. But for now, there is much to be done for this constituency, if you look at Oshodi/Isolo community, it will disgust you. Our roads are so bad that and is the major thing. The road is bad and the gridlock too much.

The many hours we lose in traffic is so much and these are the things I wonder and I look at it and weep. When you ask the representatives about the road, they will tell you it is federal road and state road. What’s the meaning of that? We are the people that use it, not the Federal or state government. These roads are meant for me and the people of our community, so most times, no matter how good your car is and you are taking bad roads, there is no way your car will not have problem and at the end of the day, you will go and visit the mechanic. When you look at the cost you incur on the road and because of the problem, your car will develop inconvenience and a lot of time is wasted.

All these will spur disgust for the area. Investors will avoid our area. Yet our cost of living is high like every Lagosian but not enjoying same benefits. It’s not good enough for me. If we are exactly patriotic, it is not necessary that you tar the road; you may not really have money but you can find granite and level the road pending the time help comes from the federal or state govern ment. As long as those in federal and state governments are also human beings, when they see that you have started to proffer a miniature solution to it, they will be urged to come with standard solution. They will feel ashamed that the people or community are challenging them. Before you know it, the help will come sooner than later.

Why do you think your representa tives have not tried to help the com munity?

Our representative is a-one man army. They think they can do it alone. They have forgotten that lobbying is politics. When you are in politics, you lobby because it is not you alone in the State House of Assem bly. You are to be closer to other members and when you have your problem, you table it and lobby every member, including the speaker that your own needs are more important than others. They will allow you to have your way, depending on how you relate with others there. Everything is about relationship and lobbying and before you know it, you will gain more stability and what you want for your community and that is your bottom line.

There is a popular belief that Nigerian politics is about money and godfatherism. How do you see it?

For now, money partially runs politics in Nigeria. For me, my godfather is God. You must also have people that have been there before you, even in terms of money. They can encourage you, advise you and also help to give you a soft landing and to direct you. In everything, even in the world of politics, we have people that you naturally want them to direct you. You may call them god fathers but in Nigeria, the godfathers that are being talked about are your financiers. If it is a godfather who finances me, I don’t have one. From experience, godfathers are people who will direct you the right way to follow, guide you towards success. Politics is an ideology that needs guidance. So, there is need for an advisor, not a financier. You know you can’t do it alone, you need elders around you; elders that will speak on your behalf to their associates and acquaintances. Such elders you come across by doing good and being hardworking. When they have seen your quality and your determination to really serve for the benefits of the people, you will definitely have it.

Why did you decide to run under the PDP umbrella?

For today, I represent PDP and the reasons are that PDP controls the centre and because All Progressives Congress (APC) has failed my constituency. The only way for me to make impact is from the opposition. I believe that PDP will make an impact in Lagos State in 2015. Among the people the APC has failed are the Igbo. The Igbo have been suffering under APC. They have been molested. In the history of the world, it was in Nigeria that a governor of a state decided to deport indigenes of another state.

Do you think you as an Igbo man will get your party’s mandate to con test in the main election?

I don’t have a doubt. The problem we have in Nigerian politics is empty promises but I am happy after all that things are gradu ally changing; people are asking questions. I don’t need to be boastful, people have started asking questions; who is that person, what is he made of? For us to move forward, if I get my party’s mandate, I will make it. I am not saying I will make it alone; a tree cannot make a forest. Most people say I am not part of them, yet, I am married to a beautiful wife from Yoruba land. What more do they need? I am the only son of my parents; despite that, I was allowed to marry my heartthrob be cause I love her even though I had ambition to do politics in my hometown but suddenly my mind changed. I felt a stint in Lagos; I have lived in Lagos for the past 30 years and besides, we are all Nigerians and not only that, my wife is a daughter of the tribe. We need to forget tribal boundaries to move this country forward.

gratieao:
Yoruba Incompetency destroyed Nigeria.
Nigerian’s problem is not bribery, not corruption not even greed rather our fundamental problem is incompetence.

Definition
Competent corrupt societies are societies that have the in-built mechanisms to self-correct and self-adjust because the fundamental foundation of those societies are situated on COMPETENCE

Incompetent corrupt societies are societies that do not have the in-built mechanisms to self-correct and self-adjust because the fundamental foundation of those societies are situated on INCOMPETENCE

Enter Yoruba Incompetence:
The presence of the Yoruba in this whole cesspool will once and for all prove my point that incompetence of the crippling order is responsible for Nigerian malaise rather than Bribery, corruption or greed.

It is easy to make the argument that the reason why the north was incompetent was because they were not well educated, that majority of them had only high school education, that they were naive young men and ill-informed.

Only when you discover that the northern leaders understood their shortcoming and literally handed over the running of the government to the Yoruba to handle the day to day operation of the government and the Yoruba could not do any better than the Hausa.

I will like to state without fear of contradiction that Yoruba has well educated people in every field of endeavor-engineering, law, economics, name it, they have people there but that is where the credit ends.

The understanding was that the educated Yoruba was going to help the ill-prepared north to administer the affairs of the country by complementing the north that was mainly in the military.

In order words, the Yoruba supposed to take care of the administration, economy, the technological innovation and development of the country into the 21st century.

What Yoruba proved unequivocally, at least we have more than forty years of history to support it, is that acquiring education to PH.D level does not automatically make you a competent person.

One cannot question the educational achievement of the Yoruba because they are one of the most educated groups in Nigeria. The question that Yoruba has to answer is what went wrong?

What did they do with their education when it came to managing Nigeria?

The Yoruba had the education, the engineers, the architects, the lawyer, economists, technologists, the numerical numbers, the ministers, directors, the medical doctors, the high positions, the unrestricted authority, the power, you know what?

The Yoruba had cart Blanche. They even had total control of the communication media.

As established above the Hausa needed the Yoruba given the fact that they got into power ill-prepared, they hoped that the Yoruba will use their education and intelligence to help navigate the ship of the country.

As history has shown, the Yoruba dropped the ball big time and are still dropping it as we speak.

Most Hausa that are in the know will tell you that it is true that Yoruba are well educated but that they are as incompetent as the north is. What called the competence of the Yoruba into question was that from the day Yoruba occupied the center stage in piloting the affairs of the country, the country did not progress an inch from where Yoruba met it rather the country regressed and lost everything that Yoruba touched or managed.

Yoruba simply ravaged, pillaged and looted every government ministry, department, agency, business, cooperation, you name it.

Gowon’s administration was considered corrupt because of the wanton, unmitigated, unrestrained looting and corruption of the Yoruba that was recruited to help run the country. It is a known fact that Yoruba thought the north how to be corrupt.

Monkey see and monkey do. After watching the Yoruba pillage and loot, the north figured that that is normal and that that is how educated people behave and they joined the bandwagon.

So you have now two tribes with the biggest population that see the looting and destruction of everything they touch as business as usual and Nigerians are wondering what is wrong with the country, why is the country so corrupt. The country is corrupt because Hausa and Yoruba are incompetent to manage the affairs of the country.

The consequences of the North’s incompetence was critical because if the north were competent, they could have taken care of the country by themselves or alternatively checkmated the Yoruba once they starting looting, but because the north did not know any better they simply joined.

The way it happened was that as the north was siphoning and looting directly from the federal treasury to themselves, the Yoruba were busy sucking the life out of all the MDAs and the businesses and cooperations from the fallout of indigenization.

Interestingly enough Hausa did not bother Yoruba and Yoruba did not bother Hausa, each party was busy minding their business to the detriment of the whole country. Exactly the symptom of incompetence, you see, incompetence does not ask questions or get inquisitive because it does not know what to be inquisitive about and even when it asks a question and gets an answer; it does not know what to do with. This explains the widespread of bribery and corruption when you have Yoruba and Hausa neck deep into it.

Another case of incompetence displayed by north was when the Yoruba proposed for the indigenization of foreign companies. It is my belief that none of the northern military leaders had ever heard that word INDIGENIZATION before or understood what it meant.

In the first instance, the presence of the northerners incooperated Nigeria was minimal to none, so the north had no comprehension of the ramification of such policies, another evidence of incompetence rather than corruption from the onset.

If the north was competent and understood the implications of such policies, they could have objected on many grounds, unfortunately they did not know any better to checkmate the looting Yoruba rascals.

Having demonstrated that the Yoruba failed to lead notwithstanding their education, the question is what is the difference between the leaders of countries like South Korea, Brazil and India that succeeded in the face of challenges and the Yoruba leaders that failed?

The fact that Yoruba cannot claim lack of education, they cannot claim lack of opportunity and they cannot claim that they lacked the unrestrained authority to act, the only thing that the other leaders have that the Yoruba lacked is competence.

The way it works is that the absence of competent creates a vacuum hat is quickly filled by the ills of societies like bribery, corruption, greed, crime, murder and so on and so on.

To further drive the point home, can anyone recall one single Yoruba official that has done something so noble and honorable to improve the lot of the whole nation rather pursuing self-interest that Nigerians could look back and sing his praise?

The answer is no, but I will like someone to proof me wrong. That is a proof of incompetence first before corruption.

As a matter of fact you can trace the origin of all the millionaires from Yoruba and Hausa to one corruption or the other or government contract.

Fighting corruption in Nigeria is like fighting Hausa and Yoruba and I think that that is a daunting task.

The simple fact that after Yoruba took total control of Nigerian economy and they could not improve the socio-economics and technological development is a sign of nothing but incompetence.
The injection of competence in Nigerian system will see a gradual improvement in accountability and progress.
Typical example is that Hausa and Yoruba have gone in and out of ministerial positions for decades without anything to show for it and that is why no one can remember their names or what they did but when you mention the name of people that have demonstrated competence, people remember them and what they accomplished, people like Charles Soludo, ObiageliEzekwesili, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Dora Akunyili and Dr. Bert Nnaji to mention afew.
Notice that these folks did not have unrestrained authority, they did not have cart blanche but were able to make a different despite the challenges just like the leaders in South Korea, Brazil and India. What do they have in common? Competence.
I could go on and on but I believe that the point has been made that the problem ailing the country is not bribery, corruption or greed rather that our fundamental problem is incompetence and that only competent people can tame the pillaging and looting going on now and most importantly that Yoruba and Hausa must join the builders rather than looters of the system.

Enter the Hausa Incompetence:
Contrast the success of competent corrupt societies with the failure of incompetent corrupt societies like Nigeria. I defined earlier an incompetent corrupt society as a society that lacks the inert mechanism to self-correct and self-adjust for the betterment of its society or a house without a grown up.

Since after the war Nigeria has been living the life of an incompetent corrupt society that lacks the necessary capacity, ability and skills to self-correct in order to carry out a task of improving the lot of Nigerian.

It is important to note that after the war the north held sway, they had total and absolute control, they had total freedom, they had no opposition because the opposition had been decimated.

 Igbo was leaking its wounds.

The north had the freedom to take the country in any direction they chose without opposition, to make Nigeria in its own image, if you think about it, they sure made Nigeria in their image, squalor, illiteracy, ignorance, crime, death, murder, hopelessness, stagnation, disillusionment, indiscipline, disaster, unfulfilled dreams, indifference, neglect, over-night millionaires and billionaires, disappointments, bribery, corruption and greed became the new normal, the question is what happened?

What happened was that the British helped to institutionalized Kakistocracy and incompetence prevailed over competence and became the order of the day if you ask me?

As we will see, the north exhibited incompetence of the highest order with its attendant corruption and blight without the necessary mechanism to self-correct and self-adjust.
Even before the north got power, they knew that they were ill prepared for the responsibilities, when they got the power, they had no clue what to do with, they did not know what military and political power were used for, they became confused, they became a sitting duck, they became rudderless, even when they were advised, they could not use the advise because they did not have the requisite ability and skills to judge the advise right or wrong.

When they delegated responsibility they lacked the ability to evaluate what the result should be, for that reason it was difficult for them to request for any feedback when they had no clue what the feedback is supposed to look like.

If they cannot tell difference between what they are looking for, how can they check mate bad behaviors from good?

This is incompetence not corruption. Before the northern military took power, literally, everything in the system was working, education, health, water supply, electricity, road infrastructure, Nigerian railway, ports authority, national shipping line, the business and commerce industry were all thriving. It is pertinent to note that the north did not meet the systems in their primitive stage, they had systems that were working, as a matter of fact Nigeria experienced incredible economic expansion immediately after the war in part because the Igbo land was militarized and unbeknownst to the leadership the army spent majority of their salaries in Igboland which managed to keep the Igbo economy afloat and plus other foreign investment into the country.

When the demands of leadership came knocking on the door of the northern leadership, what answered and opened the door was abject incompetence, absolute intellectual vacuity, visionlessness and hopelessness.

The leadership was found to be inadequate, unsuited, devoid of those qualities requisite for effective conduct or action and not possessing the necessary ability and skills to carry out the tasks of leadership. What was most disturbing was that the northern leadership knew it, the British masters knew it, the Igbo knew it, the Yoruba knew it, the world knew it and the British went ahead anyway to convince the north that they can lead the country even over the objection of the northern leadership that they cannot.

The manifest absence of vision, objectives, direction, hope and the cluelessness of the northern leadership created a vacuum that laid the foundation and fertile ground for unbridled bribery and corruption to breed, fester and multiply.
This is incompetence not corruption.

The absence of competence is our problem. When the northern leadership was found vacuous, opportunist and schemers filled the vacuum they found with their whims and caprice and the north could not self-correct or correct others because they did not possess the requisite elements of competence.

This is incompetence not corruption, though corruption later filled that vacuum that was created but it did not come first, it came second after it discovered that competence was not home.

In order words the north being in charge is like having no grown up in the house and the rascals came in and ransacked the house. What is most heart breaking is the fact that the northern incompetence knew no bounds, the least that could have been expected from the northern leadership was taking care of northern citizens, favoring them and raising their standard of living relative to the rest of the country but that did not happen.
The fact that they could not do it is incompetence not corruption.

The northern leadership could not improve the education and literacy, health -infant mortality, water, road infrastructure, economics and the overall wellbeing of the northern citizens.

The question is whether the failure of the northern leadership to improve the lot of the northerners was deliberate?

The answer is no but more of the manifestation of incompetence and not corruption. They were clueless which is equal to incompetence. The north today has the highest illiteracy rate in the whole world, infant mortality, blindness and myriad of other problems. The north is worse off amongst the whole groups in Nigeria in all indices used to adjudge standard of living.

The welfare of the north could have been more worse if it were not for the work of non-governmental organizations from the southern part of the country that provide preventive and palliative services in place of the total absence of government services.
Folks have always wondered why Nigeria is in this state of anomie, all I ask is for folks to look to the north and they will find the answer.

Folks should ask the question, how can the north do for the whole nation what they could not do for their northern people, the saying that you cannot give what you do not have, the north could not give that which they did not possess and that is competent service.

Ladies and Gentlemen, what I am contending here is that what the northern leadership demonstrated was not bribery, was not corruption or greed, what they demonstrated was peter’s principal at work which was basic incompetence because it is evident that as much as one will agree that the north had a reason to hold malice against the east, there was no evidence that they extended that malice to their northern brethren, nor was there evidence that the leadership hated their citizens, so their failure to take care of the welfare of the northern people and to make them better than the rest of the nation could only be seen as innocent and inert ignorance and not corruption.

Their failure to understand what leadership is all about and failed to make the connection between leadership and the people.

In case some of you have forgotten, let me remind you of what incompetence is all about: being Inadequate for or unsuited to a particular purpose or application, Devoid of those qualities requisite for effective conduct or action, and not possessing the necessary ability, skill, etc. to do or carry out a task".

I want the reader to pay attention to the words "unsuited, devoid, and not possessing and that will capture the crux of my argument. You have to be devoid of something serious to fail in everything. That north is simple and short not suited for the purposes of leadership and that is why they can not stop all the bad things that are happening.
There were plenty of evidence that the north in most part were innocent and not corrupt nor were they inclined to bribery until years later when the leadership vacuums they created were filled by others who were equally as incompetent as they were.

The north did not start out not to bring the dividend of their leadership to the people, ironically they did not even try because they did not know how to try or what to try or do, they were super-morosed, and they simply vegetated throughout their leadership reign. The lack of performance on the part of northern leadership was not intentional because they just did not know how to perform anything. They had no expectations either from themselves or from others, they were satisfied with where they found themselves, complacency became the order of the day as they knew no better, as they could not see beyond where they were standing, evidence of incompetence not corruption.

As far as they were concerned everything was normal, they did not know the difference between performance and none performance, when they allowed some ideas and projects to be executed, they were unsuited and were devoid of the abilities and skills to grasp what exactly the ideas and projects were supposed to accomplish in the scheme of things, the final result and output supposed to look like. They heard the words but did not comprehend them, so whether a project was done half way, well done or not at all did not matter because the skill to do the evaluate did notexist, particularly when the highest level of education attained by almost all the northern military boys at that time was secondary school obtained from mostly moslem school.

Beautiful cool

You said it better than I thought.

Our father says that; A chick that ll grow into a cock can be spotted the very day it hatches meaning that i ve already foresee where the so called baseless assertion would end if i start countering that baseless and unfounded assertion.

It was a mere assertion which i don't see any reason why any sane person should take it serious but i have decided to take it upon myself to bisect and dissect this baseless assertion right here bro. There is no statistics in place to prove that baseless assertion of bigoted Ibos but one natural and undeniable fact that tells/shows that a particular place-Odua Nation/Arewa nation is economically better and well developed than his eroded Alaigbo is the migration of inhabitants of the latter-Alaigbo to the former-Odua/Arewa Nations.

Humans naturally move to where their lives could be better not d opposite; this very opposite is what Alaigbo has been able to offer these poor Ibos over the years and that is why they always refused to come back home even when they r being slaughtered like a
goat in d North.

Finally, what makes lives better if not basic social infrastructures(not 100% available in south west but atleast better than eroded environment where erosion could suddently carry your house and your children into the sea but luckily for him and his likes, there is nothing like sea around Alaigbo), economic vibrancy, peaceful environment etc.............. And all these aforementioned factors could only be found in the west and probably in the North(Boko haram bring about that probability).

You see your biggest problem is blaming everybody for your woes, if you desire those things nobody cann stop you from getting them, in this life nobody gives u anything on a platter of gold, you fight for it, you can sit down and blame yorubas, americans, Hausa etc for all you can, you wont still get it.

when June 12 was annulled, did the yorubas ask anybody for help? Or blamed anybody? No they learnt to fight for themselves, yes you can call them noise makers, but they made such loud noise that the world was forced to listen and they were compensated, when fuel subsidy was removed the same thing.

You guys claim you are the best in everything, go ahead and get what you want stop blaming other people for your woes.

its not for nothing that 99% of the FDI into the country last year came into the southwest, according to your president only Lagos and Ogun state alone accounts for 55% of Nigeria's economy activities, yet in your bigoted minds the yorubas are bad people destroying everything if they have destroyed everything why not simply go and reestablish then in your region and prove to the whole world how wonderful you are in resource management.
I never told you we are the best......and not everyone you meet is as tribal as u.....I was born in the west why would I be a bigot like you? I have more yoruba friends than you would ever have wth igbos.....you think its that easy to re establish your self in a country where everyone wants to have a piece of you.....I know what happened when igbos where deported and igbos complained and you and your lots rejoiced......is it the fault of igbos that only GEJ decided to even make an attempt to construct something in the east......no northern leader would do it.....gowon even refused to show face when ojukwu died....these are the people that show the igbos love......you and ur folks would come out and start saying we shouldn't blame others for our woes when your folks and northerners are the ones stunting our development.....Ibeto was crippled and dangote favoured because he is hausa.........is that our fault? Provide a leve playing field for everyone and no igbo person would complain because we thrive in competition.......

Beautiful written. The north and SW destroyed that country and made it into the hellhole it is right now. The 3rd most corrupt nation in Africa and used to be the most corrupt nation in Africa during the Era of North being the president and SW appointees in many federal sectors. Yet they think that's a pride. I look at that communities and I wonder what maggots reside their that is eaten all their brains out or is it zombies? I'm actually disgusted in the way Nigeria is and I take pride my people have very little hand in it. GEJ is not the best president when compared to the rest of the world but when I look at what he did compared to the rest in Nigeria, I rate him a high in terms of all nigerian president and that is in fact a shame. Funny thing, the group screaming "political sophisticated and strong" are living in abject poverty. A high margin difference between their politicians and themselves. If I had to beg in order to make a living or if I had to beg to get food on my table yet my leader is living it large as much as he wants then I'll be ashamed of myself to scream "sophisticated".

Stop deceiving yourself, Ibos have been part of all the Hausa-led governments in Nigeria and they ruined the country together, check 1st and 2nd republic. In 1999 we had the chance to make a clean break and elect a technocrat, but Ibos and south-south joined Hausa and IBB to impose Obasanjo on the country after he was rejected by Yorubas. Once again Ibos joined others to impose a failure on Nigeria. After all shenanigans and Jonathan emerged, many thought he will be different and supported him for a full term but he eventually turned out not be humble but actually dull. Guess what, rather than join others to say the truth and shame the devil, Ibos have turned out to be the greatest supporters of the failure and rotten government even more vociferous than Ijaws the presidents tribe.

And you have the nerve to say Yorubas joined you to ruin the country, you can't be serious. Yorubas are only trying to get a non-toxic Northerner to rule and satisfy the longing in the region while we prepare a good candidate like Pat Utomi or Fashola to take over afterwards.

Having read what was written by one stupid pinhead from the land of apes, I now agreed with every other Nigerians that you guys(Ibos) are nothing but fools. You and your brothers are the most foolish humans on earth. You guys are just pathetic and let me say this here, we-Yorubas can't wait for you parasites to leave Odua nation and Nigeria as whole. What are you(chest-beater) waiting for, start a war if you are really serious about gaining independence.

Until that piece of sh1t nation divides we will confine to frustrate and take all Odua monkies have and keep you a poverty striken community. So far the deed is going mighty well. Cry some more slave. We are not done, hold on to your walls cause we'll contine to make you and your illiterate, sorry excuse, pathetic, primitive, savage tribe lives a living hell till una slit your throst and do the world a favour by erasing every trace of your illiteracy and backwardness. You wanted one Nigeria will contine making you bash your head on the wall for that one nigeria. Enjoy it

Aguiyi Ironsi is a Yoruba man i presumed, Nnamdi Azikiwe is an Hausa man and of course all the Ibo Politicians-Okadigbo, Wabara, Ekwueme, Ojukwu, Nnamani are aliens in Nigeria politics. And being aliens in Nigeria politics, nobody can hold them responsible for the failure of d past governments in which these guys are part of. Yeye dey smell!!!

Under Ironsi rule did Nigeria move backwards to a mess of a nation itself today. Having leaders in regional aspect whom had no significant hands in the federal government pray tell in your ignorant mind how they contributed to the destruction of the nation in federal government. Under whose leadership did naira drop? Under whose leadership did every sectors of the federal government drop? Under whose leadership did Nigeria go from one of the fastest developing african nation (during Nnamdi Azikiwe rule) to becoming THE MOST corrupt African nation in the world and held the title until OBJ rule. Under whose leadership did most companies in Nigeria liquidated? Under whose leadership did Nigeria become one of the highly indebted African nation in the world with absolutely NOTHING to show for it. Under whose leadership did living standard of the common man decrease? Under whose leadership did the gap of poverty ridden and rich in nation become a widely gap.

Incase you weren't aware Nigeria became the he11 hole it is prior to Obasanjo and GEJ. Nigerian economy deteriorated during the Era YORUBA and their Northern masters held the the federal government sectors. Infact it was during the Era of OBJ Nigeria comatose stand started to move albeit slowly thanks to the Igbo under his administration. Under his rule, Nigerian corruption improved and finally got of the title it held for years. During the OBJ rule, an aspect of Nigeria debt erased thanks to an Igbo woman. Ironically enough, those debts shouldn't have been collected in the first place and even so, nigeria yearly GDP showed the nation was more than sufficient enough to pay it off years ago. Under GEJ many of ssh1t yoruba and their master's left in shambles are being rebuilt and brought back to life.

Infact I quadruple dare you to list development made prior to OBJ and GEJ rule. And I dare you go compare and contrast Nigerian development prior to Yoruba and North taken over the nation. Let's compare and contrast and actually see if GEJ and his cabinet ruling is an incompetent as yoruba try to pass off as. Under GEJ ruling the nation economy is made a high improvement till the point it surpassed South Africa while under the ruling where Yoruba held the shot Nigeria economy deteriorated. Maybe you forgot the Era where Nigeria took a huge dive downwards. Let me give you a hint, it started prior to GEJ and OBJ ruling

Finally don't make me laugh in comparing SE and SW. Despite SE cities destroyed during the war, SE is more developed than SW. The only decent part in the entire SW is literally lagos hence your people desperation to pass that area as the entire SW. Funny thing, if not for FG and whites involvement in Lagos, that city would have been the disgusting hellhole the entire remaining SW states are. You people should be ashamed of yourself that despite no tribal or political unrest, SW still remain as backwards and poverty ridden as it is today. It actually shows why under your people assistance in ruling, the nation deteriorated. If you can't even move yourselves forward as a region, how do you think you have the capability to move the nation forward.

Finally while I'm at it, Orlandowoh next time you want to address me with that your illiterate mouth. DO NOT BE A COWARD and do so using your REAL ID. You worthless piece of sh1t that's better of dead than alive.

So Ibeto was crippled for Dangote? Hmmmmm welcome to the world of business. So when Mike Adenuga's CIL was refused the gsm license while MTN and airtel were granted the same license it was because Mike Adenuga was an Ibo man? The same Adenuga came back with glo and had to pay 3 times what MTN and airtel before he was granted the license. Infact that same Obasanjo threatened to bring down Adenuga towards the end of the 2nd term, Adenuga had to run to Ghana to survive.

My dear rugged business men survive, they show resilience and determination, they dont go whining about how Yorubas have refused to let them grow.

The same Yorubas that have been coexisting alongsides igbos every where without as much as lifting a finger against them.

The same Yoruba Obasanjo during his tenure had all the sensitive areas of the economy handled by the igbos, but because of Ibeto all yorubas have suddenly turned to witches and wizards haunting every sucesssful igbo.

Guy just look into the mirror and see bigotry personified.

Humans naturally move to where their lives could be better not d opposite; this very opposite is what Alaigbo has been able to offer these poor Ibos over the years and that is why they always refused to come back home even when they r being slaughtered like a
goats in d North.

Ok, now this good..this is exactly how u should respond to issues like that, sounds mature. However, he claimed that he has been in all the south west state capitals hence his assertion that south east is better developed. So, for you to have towed the opposite, does that mean u too have been to all the south east state capitals to substantiate your counter argument??

this kinda thread with its huge and highly impacting message is only for clever, intelligent and deciphering minds....definitely not for small fish brains like you..
Lil' wonder you spluttered virtually only three meaningless and unreasonable words...

@op,nigerians had the great chance to put their heads together, at the conference that took place earlier in the year, and clear up the numerous beaureaucratic spanners and clogs in the works as regards foundamental issues plaguing the land but blew it away..it would have been worse if the likes of odumakin had been as stuppid as those 'amala merchants', who sold the speakership of the hor for peanuts, and teamed his arsse up with the northerners..
The country is indeed blessed but so cursed with bad and evil leaders and players at the helms of affairs..cursed with 'parasites' who,due to their phantom larger numbers, chose to suppress and oppress others and exploit and drain away their resources and allocate same to themselves..these are parasites who kill bills and motions that will uplift the standard of living the people/geese laying the golden eggs..nigeria is such a terrible case, the people are long'a time divided along ethnic and tribal lines (thats normal...you guys should stop the self deception, nigeria aint one) and only something drastically foundamental, maybe in the form of a real revolution,....can address her reals issues otherwise that break up and disintegration is inevitable..
Its either true federalism/confederation and right to self determination or its sure curtains.

In the meantime, stick ur arsse with da devil (the hardworking GEJ who is face with a lot of human, artificial, real, unreal and 'phd' problems) you know and geddahell outta da tracks of that smiling goblin and monster looking every bit like an angel you think you know.

Such Trojan gift can only be accepted by people from your region to be used to scatter whatever regional plan you may dream up. Tell us where is APGA today?

The OP stated that the problem is the NIGERIAN POLITICAL SYSTEM, and he did not absolve the Igbos from the complicities that led to the degradation of Nigeria. However, we must all agree that the degradation of Nigeria started from the late 70s till the late 90s. Unfortunately, the NIGERIANS from the Western and Nothern extraction were at the helm of affairs within this period. These leaders failed to UPDATE Nigeria.

THEY FAILED TO UPDATE NIGERIA.

GEJ may be viewed as a bad leader, but he is surely more pro-developmental than all the Northern and Western leaders that led Nigeria from the 70s to the 90s. I don't mean to be TRIBALISTIC by saying the above, but that is what it is.

IF NIGERIA MUST CHANGE, WE MUST CHANGE THE SYSTEM. If change means BUHARI AND ATIKU among others, then I PREFER GEJ. Change means doing something differently. It means trying not to RECYCLE THE OLD BRIGADE THAT RUINED NIGERIA.

Name one meaningful development that has not been done before GEJ has caused to happen in Nigeria

Also, who is this non-toxic Northerner you are talking about because last i checked the northerner SW is trying to impose as president is Buhari. Last I checked he is far from "non-toxic".
An islamist with no remorse when his supporters go on a killing spree when he loses is toxic in my book.
A coupist is toxic in my book
A looter is toxic in my book
A kidnapper is toxic in my book
And finally, A man who said "Abacha is not corrupt" even though reality showed otherwise is toxic in my book
Idk who this non-toxic Northerner you speak of

Using religion or attempting to promote tribalism will not work, Nigerians are smarter and stronger today than yesterday...

It is the culture of a certain group in Nigeria to show up at the village, at all cost, with Range Rovers for Christmas. It doesn't matter where the big cars and money come from, as long as the goal is accomplished everybody is happy. This is the same mentality that is being exhibited at Aso Rock today, and the main reason why folks from this area see nothing wrong with this featherbrained president.

They will sell their mother at any time, any day for a buck....EVERYBODY MUST DRIVE RANGE ROVER.

So, expect nothing until Nigerians get the opportunity to elect a real leader, from a disciplined background and not just another money hungry, shoe-less, clueless person.
so the misuse of power by obasanjo to favour someone who is a sponsors of pdp is called business?

Do you remember the Abacha years? How Many Yoruba businesses and business men were brought down? How they were hounded? Even the Yoruba millitary officers were not spared. The Yoruba people suffered greatly, it was indeed the year of locusts.

You know what we could also have looked at the Nzeribes, the Chukwumerijes, the Daniel Kanus, the Frank Omenkas etc and declare all igbos our enemies and give excuses for our failures and woes, infact Abacha moved all the federal agencies to Abuja in one fell sweep ostensibly to cripple the yorubas.

But you know what? We used to sing a song that you can take everything you want from Lagos but you cant relocate our Lagoon and sea.

The yorubas stood firm and they triumphed over the evil general, they do not hold unnecceasary grudges, thats the spirit. Our parents taught us not to be giving excuses, nobody can hold you down if you are determined, for God's sake Germany lost the 2nd world war, as we speak today Americans have been trying hard to hold down the germans, my brother germany has moved on. NO EXCUSE IS GOOD ENOUGH FOR FAILURE, LEARN TO DUST YOUR PANTS AND MOVE ON.

The yorubas hold no grudge agains the ibos, i have several occasions in this lagos when yorubas have sided with ibos whom they feel are about to be cheated.

Bigotry breeds mutual suspicion and friction, my 2 pence.

What exactly did the federal govenment do in the west thats not in the east?

The port has always been in lagos from pre colonial times.

Is it bridges? Airports? Roads? I really want to know exactly what the federal government did in the southwest that is absent in the east or any where else.
For the sake of christ lagos has ceased being the fedral capital since 1991. The Europeans in their wisdom decided to make Lagos their abode and since then the city has been prominent. So how is that the fault of the Yorubas.

Do you know how much has been sunk into Abuja and yet that place is as desolate as graveyard nobody is going there.

when I say federal presence,it starts with the british presence. You and I know that the british lay much emphasis and premium on locations that are very close to the sea, hence the strategic location and economic importance of lagos to the atlantic...[but there are states close to the sea to e.g rivers and akwa ibom] ...hence the massive development of areas like victoria island, marina, ikoyi and various G.R.As in lagos.......after independence came oil boom, massive construction of bridges...and because of the importance of lagos being the federal capital, head offices like oil companies opened up in lagos.....the sea port was restructued and an international airport was built......remember that lagos has more than 4 or five military base....and so on.....u have the National theatre,Festac 77 structures, national stadium, housing estates....and all these where built and funds released because of its status as FCT.....all these do not exist in the SE....whatever u see was done through communal. Effort and hardwork......even Ogun state benefited from its proximity to lagos.......abuja as FCT has been transformed from a bush to the best state infrastructure wise in Nigeria.....imagine what anambra state would have been if made FCT for just 10 years? Or enugu? So what are we talking about here? Calabar used to be a capital and u can see the little development it had.....
