Guys, I notice people come here every time talking about this aptitude test and that exam blah. That is just the mainstream way of job hunting, think different and don't follow the crowd. You don't have to wait for a company to advertise its vacancy before you apply, chances are there is a position within an organisation that could suit you. I business develop a lot and this requires I go for conferences and such, I realized along the line that majority of the people I meet are already employed and hardly will you see graduates or job seekers. Sad, because this a great way to meet hiring managers that could have a look at your CV and even conduct an impromptu interview for you there. Here's a few you could attend for free: Nigerian Oil and Gas conference: http://www.cwcnog.com/ Power Nigeria http://www.nigeria-power.com/ West African Power Conference http://www.wapicforum.com/ Go there with copies of your CV, they are very influential people there who are in the position to hire you on the spot. All the major I.O.C's and indigenous Independent Oil companies always have their executives in attendance. Being that it is a networking event you won't have any problem getting 5 minutes of their time which is more than enough for a presentation on why you should be considered for any of their openings. I have attended all in an official capacity and noticed the absence of job seekers there. It really is a great way of getting access to a company and you have 30 - 55% chances of getting something out of it. So please ditch conventional ways of job hunting and try something new this time. Good luck. 4 Likes |
