You haven't met the correct ones. Those ones don't make mouth, you will barely know them until their results pop out.

They actually have fewer chances of getting admission in UNILORIN, partly because UNILORIN does not request for their transcripts... If you see them for OAU, UI, UNILAG, where they're admitted based on transcripts; you go fear fear...

Besides, one of my friends that graduated from UNILORIN even confirmed this... He said the DE guy surpassed their scholar record and even graduated as the best student...

Though I couldn't get admission via DE, I'm one of them cheesygrin Rocking UIL like Kilode cheesygrin If you like believe...

By the way, the use of English has nothing to do here.

Truth be told, corruption is on the high side at Polytechnic-Seriously high; however, if you pass through the process without cutting corners and make 4+ (depending on d scale), university academic work won't be a hard nut for you to crack.

All said, you don't need this, because you just did. You don't need to tell me you're rocking, Seriously, I would know. Intelligence is far beyond classroom performance, it also extends to interpersonal relationship and redefined varsatility.
You didn't get it, DE Peeps are a fundamental hype, talking about fearing them is a day-light joke. So Much as Newton's Mathematical principles of Natural philosophy holds good here and all around the word, and 1+1 still add to 2, then there'd be no basis for the hype. And talking about the use of English; in so far it remains our Lingua Franca, then, the first test of intellectual sagacity remains the ability of a people to express themselves in clear terms, at least, to a level of literal appreciation.
I hope you understand?

Sir Rkarang, I think the inability to express oneself appreciably well in English, is fundamentally disgraceful. Forget about school grades. I bet you--although I don't advocate for job hunting--a higher portion of the reason why our employers maintain that our graduates are unemployable rallies around their use of English and general versartility. Could you imagine yourself a CEO Of a multinational company that would hardly address his BoT In a conference? Isn't this abysmally demeaning? If you're familiar with political happenings, would you hear those respective National representatives throw out literal tantrums during Several assemblies, say the just concluded UN Assembly. It's annoying when I hear people say ''scientists and Engineers shouldn't be involved in English things and writing''. How fallacious. Haven't we read of such scientist s as Einstein that even took literature a personal interest. Well, all these are just a result of the celebration of mediocrity(mindless learning, eg cramming nd jacking for just grades nd n0t to learn new stuffs) in Nigeria's educational system.

I taught an American, 13years-Grade 8, English... So I very much understand what I said in my previous post.

Part of her test:

1. Temmy as well as chairman ______ here. She chose IS-correct

2. Tennyson as well as the president _____ here. She chose IS-wrong (are-correct)

Apparently, she didn't understand the rule... Besides, she didn't even understand the meaning of invidious. What am I trying to deduce from all these Those that are born there still don't understand all the rules, much less of those that are born here in Nigeria.

I wasn't her English teacher ooo, I only liked visiting her class then.

Finally sir Rkarang; we know being fluent is the first thing Nigerian's use in judging a person's academic Level. Not those principles of bus admin u do at your dept. At least, for the first time, you wouldn't need Bus. Admin's story. You'd only need it subsequently if the second party takes interest in it. Summarily, the first thing that would make me respect you if and I meet on the road is your use of English and not how perfect you are at solving the four Maxwell's equation. That is subsequently.

The discussion above, between Temi and Rka reminds me of our ex-first lady-Jona wife- and Buhari's grade in waec esp english and maths. Nobody have an inkling of what the future holds, grammatical dexterity or academic prowess does not guarantee greatness. As far as you are on the right path, Only God can.

I called it a discussion because, both of you know what you're saying and there was no element of anger. I love that. Someone once said: discussion is to know what's right, while argument is to know who is right... Anyways, let's just keep up the good work and keep hope alive. All is and will be well.

Meanwhile, Folks with good grades have great potentials if they manage information about opportunities...

Don't get silly ideal in school, many regretted doing so, thinking that "this this this..." Remember that what is worth doing is worth doing well. Some learnt "hand-work" and become successful, some start business and make huge profit, and some attend schools and become great. Everybody has his/her own interest... If education favours you, good luck; if not, better luck...

In case you're here and you're dreaming of becoming a scholar, don't let anyone discourage you; education also pays in big time.

End of Story, End of Discussion
