This is why you should read your history to find out that..there is nothing new in what this guy has written. My conclusion ins no matter how much you want to deceive yourself about your education advantages over the north ,the nor(th has better mentality than southerners. You get the feeling that they are more easily motivated by something more than the self, more than personal monetary gain, more of ideals, more of religion, more of ideology, more of domination by their way of life .........that is their great strength. It is no surprise that they make good terrorists and suicide bombers. The Ibo Man in particular does not understand the idealistic promptings of political participation. In order to solve our political problem, we have to forget tribes completely and destroy the linkage between money and politics. Let us have parties based on ideologies. There are sophisticated religion based parties in India, Turkey, Israel and even in the US, the republican party has an influential fundamentalist Christian wing. When we have parties based on ideals then people of the right mentality get voted into office and inspire younger ones to develop same qualities.

When I started observing him and listening to his interviews, I told people ''this man is empty but he will develop the Niger Delta'', this was because the lack of orientation was glaring and I just thought such people were of the builder type of leader. You won't believe my surprise that the Niger Delta is still the way it was and only militants are smiling. Now, that is the low mentality we are talking about.

Jonathan has not articulated a national vision that unifies Nigeria because he is not capable of that at all. 1. An average Northerner acquires a cheap transistor radio-set in order to gain political awareness
from broadcasting structures such as BBC (Hausa Service),Radio Nigeria, etc. This practice has made the region the most politically-aware region in Nigeria. On the hand, an average Southerner, typically, acquires expensive Smartphones equipped with FM radio receiving capability. Instead, they would rather listen to inane songs like “Your Waist”, “Skelewu”,“Ginger Your Swagger”, “NoGede”, etc.
2. Unlike the South, the North understands the importance of numbers in politics. This is why, by all strategic means necessary, the North ensures that they have a larger representation at the National Assembly.
3. Northerners don’t shout, scream, vent and speak “big grammar” to prove that they are politically intelligent on political programmes on TV and radio. Instead, they shout, scream, vent, kick, punch, taekwondo, etc on the floor of the National Assembly to promote a cause that is in their favor. The reverse is the case for the Southerners.
4. Southern graduates/job seekers consider the public sector (government institutions) an unfashionable place for employment.Meanwhile, the Northerners massively recruit and entrench themselves into the public sector and manipulate themselves up the ranks. While all these are going on, their southern brothers and sisters spend years languishing in the labour market for the elusive jobs in blue chip organizations. Yet, Southerners complain of marginalization in the public sector.
5. For some weird reasons, the South is always frightened when the North make political pronouncements. Even weirder - for some inexplicable reasons, Senators and House of Representative members from the South appear to be too timid to oppose their northern counterparts during legislative sessions.
6. According to the gospel of the North - the Northerners were born to rule. That is, leadership (of Nigeria) is their exclusive preserve. By extension, the Southerners were born to be led! Interestingly, certain actions of some Southerners support this belief.
7. The North has more (unrated) billionaires(in Dollars) than any region in Nigeria. For instance, a certain Alhaji Mai Deribe (an oil well licensee)would certainly laugh each time Forbes releases its ratings and his name is not listed.

Okay I've broken down the key points that pretty much sums up how wrong the OP is in this matter.

Well obviously because our colonial master thought the north would be the most competent in handling this country in the future. Which they were wrong, look at the state of the north, the least developed and the most impoverished, why does the OP assume this is even debatable, the north are dying because God is not blessing that region and they greatly rely on the south.

One other point is how come Nigeria is socially and politically split between the north and south even with the large diversity in ethnic group.
Easy answer, the predominant religious faction in that region. A Muslim north and a Christian south. I would pick the south any day just for that, God forbid I live in a sharia region anytime soon. Let boko haram deal with their north.

My brother u are right, i conducted 2006 census in d north, where i did mine, their village heads brought goats n d rest of them to count as human beings, when we asked them why? their reply to us was, incase if d want to give us local government area i.e LGA, since high population n landmass is a criteria in creating LGA.
