-RWANDA 1-1 NIGERIA (June 5, 2005 – WCQ) - Jimmy Gatete
put the home team ahead in early in the second half but
Obagoal came to the rescue as he scrambled a late equalizer
to save Nigeria from a shock defeat by beating the offside
trap to slot home the goal with just 11 minutes remaining.
-ALGERIA 2-5 NIGERIA (September 4, 2005 – WCQ) - It was
his first treble for Nigeria even though the team failed to
qualify for the 20106 World Cup. A stunning performance on
Oran left Algeria reeling in the pint-sized striker’s wake.

Yusuf Ayila also scored as Nigeria lost the ticket to Angola.
-NIGERIA 2-0 RWANDA (June 5, 2004 – WCQ) - Obagoal’s
home debut ended on a positive as the Eagles silenced the
Wasps in the race for the 2006 World Cup. His second half
double were first of eight in the qualifying series.
-SENEGAL 1-2 NIGERIA (January 31, 2006 – Afcon) - In his
debut at the Afcon, Martins ended up as Nigeria’s top scorer
courtesy of his double against Senegal in the last group
game. The team needed a win to guarantee a place in the
quarter finals and Obagoal’s individual brilliance delivered it
after Souleymane Camara’s go ahead goal.
-KENYA 2-3 NIGERIA (November 14, 2009 – WCQ) - After
going down to Dennis Oliech’s strike, Nigeria knew they
needed a win in order to stay in contention for the 2006
World Cup. Alongside Yakubu Ayegbeni, the weapon of mass
destruction scored a brace to lead Nigeria to victory. It was a
sweet victory that ensured the Eagles would play at the
tournament in South Africa.
