Opinion Poll - Naira To Cross 200 Per Dollar Soon? by samiebond: 3:45pm On Dec 22, 2014 |
Dec 22 (Lagos) - Over the weekend we met with some top private analysts and there was talk of Naira hitting the 240 mark over the next few months. The reasons given for Naira to cross 200 soon were many and almost none for the currency to strengthen unless Brent crude price bounces back soon. Some blame also went towards the CBN for not increasing the Benchmark interest rate to a level which could support the Naira and it was compared to the move by the Russian Central Bank which raised their key lending rate to 17% from 10%. Even as we witness a Santa Claus rally at the stock exchange this week most analysts are not positive over a six month period and expect equities to remain volatile. Could Nigeria face a similar fate as the Russian Rouble in coming months? Or have we seen the worst already? These are questions on the mind of every analyst and investor at the moment. Naira crossed the 194 mark on the street market over the week as was reported in some of the top newspapers in the country. Naira is at 187.45 at the inter-bank which is much below the CBN's desired range. It is anybody's guess as to where Naira is headed. So we would like to ask you our esteemed visitors "Where do you see the Naira 3 months from today". Simple vote for your selection in the opinion poll section on the homepage. reporting for easykobo.com on Monday, Dec 22 2014 from Lagos, Nigeria |

In a reasonable society, citizens and labour union would have started rallies and street protests to demand for a better policy and government, but Nigerians will keep quiet and swallow lies from government. Let them suffer till they realize that the power to Experience better life is in their votes. I don't pity them at all. 2 Likes 1 Share |
