Jonathan Leads A Corrupt Government, Says New York Times by Orikinla(m): 8:34pm On Dec 31, 2014
The United States- based New York Times has said that President Goodluck Jonathan is leading a corrupt government.

It added that the government had little credibility.

The newspaper, in its editorial published on its website on May 6, condemned Jonathan’s “inept and slow” attitude towards locating and rescuing the schoolgirls abducted from Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State, on April 14.

It also condemned the reaction of the President’s wife, Patience, to the incident, describing it as “stunningly callous.”

" It is ironic and saddening that while they preach to the downtrodden masses to tighten their belts and prepare for austere times, they continue to display nauseating indifference to our plight by raising billions of Naira for a project to further impoverish us".

National Theatre sold in secret deal to UAE company, to become shopping mall

According to GulfAfricaReview, the National Theatre has been sold by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, headed by Edem Duke, to ‘Mulk Holdings’, a company based in the United Arab Emirates.

The prospective sale and rebranding of the national edifice has been in the talks for some time, but many Nigerians have repeatedly kicked against the idea and sale.

‘Mulk Holdings’, a diversified UAE-based conglomerate with interests in retail sector and other businesses, is said to have agreed to inject $40 million (N7.34 billion) into the project.

The deal, which was reportedly carried out secretly, was sealed in December 2014 between a delegation led by Duke, the General Manager of the National Theatre, Kabiru Yar’Adua and representatives of Mulk Holding.
