Nobody is infallible in fx especially when u are being chased by d demon of greed/emotion then u are likely to still blow 40 more accounts. d first step to be successful at fx is conquer dis two & then look for a gud system or strategy developed by u & then apply gud mm. ur

risk to reward should never be less dan 1:1.

choose a trader u want to be either swing or day trader. personally I'm nt gud at swing trading cos my impatient will kill d trade in premature breakeven, stop loss half way or few profits.

since i conquered those two demons in me, i now allow my trades run to 1:1/1:3 without fear cos i risk from 1.5 -5% . i have also learn to reduce my trades
next i am working on is to focus on trading two pairs alone. not all pairs worth trading.

summary of dis epic post is gud mm + strategy are d most vital elements to successful trading.

from next week, i move to 3 - 5% risk from 1-2.5% risk. I've also switch to lower timeframe with money management rules intact. Everytin i do here is exactly hw my live trading will be done so critics are welcome if am not doing well so far. i plan my trades i trade my plans.

acct1 +11% gain
acct2 +17% gain (tight ECN broker spread)
highest floated equity loss -2%
total lost trades 9+7 ( including those tiny tiny loss. newbies loss is a must in fx: be ready!)

may start concentrating on one acct

it's easy to say plan your trade and trade your plan...but in d real trading, it can be frustrating at times most especially if a winning trade with just few pips to hit profit suddenly turns and hits B.E or S.L.

in such scenario, u will feel abandoning your plan.

don't react to your emotions, instead think through it!

Mr. Tom why the increment? Please, try not to put unnecessary pressure on your trades. Anyway, 3-5% risk is ok provided you don't open too many positions.

true. my plan is if i make d first $100 then will move to d final stage of % increment (profit risk) & trade 1 position & prolly 1 pair only. Txn for d feedback

Good point but I don't intend for someone to take this to live trading, I expect someone to demo trade and get comfortable with anything you find online before putting your money into it. Maybe I should have mentioned it though.

Ps: If you check the trades, most trades in there have locked in profit already, so no way it reversing to take me out all negative.

Forex Markets Range 90% of the time. A trend on 5 mins chart us a range on 1 hourchart. A trend on 1 hourchart is a range on daily charts, a trend in daily charts is only a range in monthly chart. so Trends and ranges are only relative, which is why Stoploss and Takeprofit are integral parts of trading.

seconded, my trade are strictly daily, sometimes i trade weekly with lower lot. swing trading is my specialty. currently enjoying the dollar EURAUD is printing, am leaving it open since its trending heavily nw

Nice huge candle breakout from the Triangle pattern,As I did analysed on thursday price broke below the support line yesterday,confirming the bearish dominance.So looking for a retracement by next week to ride along with the trend...

So Guys keep and an eye on GBPUSD next week for possible sell trade.
