Happy New Year, live triumphantly this New Year It is inescapable for us that we might encounter temptation in this journey of faith as we remain in the flesh till Jesus comes, but the good news is that we dont have to fall for it because we have the grace not to. One of the best way I have learnt and which has worked for me over the years is never to entertain any thought that doesnt have a future, this is possible because we have the power to decide what thought we allow to remain in us. For every temptation starts with a thought and once the thought is being entertained and tarries, it breeds and eventually becomes an action which is always regretable. Every thoughts gets empowered as we meditate on it, and sure loses its hold as we do not give further room to it (never even give a second thought to anything that is not in line with your new nature and spirit). So the choice is yours as you either live an overcoming life in Christ Jesus or a life of constant struggle with one besetting sin or the other. For no temptation (no trial regarded as enticing to sin), [no matter how it comes or where it leads] has overtaken you and laid hold on you that is not common to man [that is, no temptation or trial has come to you that is beyond human resistance and that is not [b] adjusted and [c] adapted and belonging to human experience, and such as man can bear]. But God is faithful [to His Word and to His compassionate nature], and He [can be trusted] not to let you be tempted and tried and assayed beyond your ability and strength of resistance and power to endure, but with the temptation He will [always] also provide the way out (the means of escape to [d] a landing place), that you may be capable and strong and powerful to bear up under it patiently. 1 Corinthians 10:13 (Amplified bible) Stay blessed and remain rapturable 3 Likes 3 Shares |
