The year 2014 has come and gone, what a wonderful year it was. The Ballon d’Or shortlist features no defender but instead it has one goalkeeper on it; German goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, it comes as no surprise because it is common knowledge a defender’s position is not the most glamorous on the pitch.
