It’s another year, another opportunity for a fresh start.

Whether your career goal this year is to get a new job or move up in your current role, these 5 steps will move you towards achieving that goal in 2015. Happy reading!

1. Review your career:

The beginning of the year is the best time to take a step back and think about your career. You are about to start another stretch, another year. Are you happy, fulfilled with what you currently do and where you presently are? Or could you be doing better? Bring out a pen and paper and list all the things that worked career-wise in 2014, and all the things tht did not. From this list, highlight the areas in which you desire an improvement.

2. Keep abreast of potential opportunities, test your ‘competitiveness’ in the job market:

Sometimes, we know we want something differemt, but we don’t know exactly what. The beauty of the information-age is that there is a plethora of information on jobs out there. Browse through job boards, and get a feel of what kinds of jobs are available, as well as what skills / experience is required in order to land such jobs.

Even of you are currently employed, who says you can’t be ‘better’ employed? There may be existing vacancies that suit your profile and offer much better than your current role does. If you don’t do your research, you will prbably never know. Brush up your CV, get online and apply to a handfuul of jobs. You never know what the future holds smiley.

3. Review your personal brand:

Most career seekers do not have a personal brand, and just as big brands like Coca-Cola, Jumia, Apple, stand out from their competitors, a career seeker with a stronger brand will stand out from the competition.

To create a personal brand, you need to: define who you are (what skill, knowledge or expertise you want to be known for), polish your image (physical appearance, communication, work ethics, attitude, relationship building skills), and increase your knowledge (take advantage of any opportunity to gain new experience and increase your knowledge)

4. Update your CV & Profile

Updating your CV is not the most exciting of tasks, but it is one that is necessary – even if you are not immediately applying for jobs – because you never know when a great opportunity will present itself. It is likely that you will have built on your experience in the previous year. Take some time to add any knowledge, skill or experience gained over the course of the previous year to your CV. Also review your personal profile (on your CV). your professional (Social Media) profile, and your cover letter, to ensure that they effectively sell you.

5. Work smart:

Working hard is good, but it really only pays off when you work smart. You need to be strategic in the decisions you make at work this year, and in the manner in which you manage your working relationships. Take advantage of learning / growth opportunities, and identify and establish good working relationships / connections with people who you believe could, in one way or another, be of help in your professional life.

A happy and fulfilled 2015 to you!

Its no more news that everything in Nigeria practically depends on oil.
According to a recent research, Nigerians consume 40million litres of oil daily, you can imagine the huge business in that sector. From my personal observations, experience and interaction in this sector, making loss is almost impossible for smart and calculated investors.
A look into this sector reveals that there is almost business for everyone, this means that no matter who you are, where you are or your expert deficiency, if only you have the financial capability partnering with the right team(active and passive partners) I bet you another of your name is wealth.
If you are business driven with financial strength, Call me 08125088674 let's talk business. Thanks.
