A DRIVE ROUND THE CITY BY THE WORDSMITH Dear anxious mind, Let me take you for a ride, round this city, A city full of corruption, bribery and other social vices, Where the leaders are applauded, in the international stance, and condemned in their homelands, this is because they have, enough pack of lies to cover up their tracks. A city full of different ethnic groups, that are all united, but through conflict, they live like cats and mice, or like the two great rivers, River Benue and Niger. Hey Mister Mind, Can you see that school? It was once flooded with students, Till Perpetrators attacked, And fled away with our girls, The incapable government, couldn't take action, Instead it sits in wait, For the 'Almighty' veto powers, I lost my colleagues, I lost syblings, I lost a fere, And also lost my close friends, In that park over there, They were innocent souls, who were there on a purpose, but they were all roasted on a go. I can still remember then, When this city knew no bombs, where leaders worked selflessly, while the president never danced, while innocent souls got burnt. Dear anxious mind, this city is full of cruel scenes, let us drive back home, And get our holy books to our bossom, and pray to the most high, To restore our city to its default peace.
