Sugarcane Baby (no. 34) was more popular in Nigeria, while Country Boy was more popular outside Nigeria, but I personally prefer Country Boy.

Harry Mosco - Country Boy.

I so much agree with the list. especially the top 10. but I think eedris abdulkareem jaga jaga should be on the list too. somewhere between no 40-50

Why should eedris jaga jaga make the list, it can't even make top 100

This list is sooo flawed. How can P-square's "No one be like you" be higher than "Oruka" by Sunny Nneji? If Tony Tetuila's "My Car" is here, where is "Gongo Aso" by 9ice?

Great list!

Do you agree that Funmi Adams song "Ahaye Yaro" would make a better substitute for her "Nigeria my beloved country"?
Also, I would substitute "Biri Ka M'biri" for "Identity" when I consider the major hits by Oliver De Coque.

Your list has just made me start searching on Youtube for some songs I forgot ever existed, and some I don't think I've heard of.
My old boy still has several LP records that I play on occasions. I recently began converting them to mp3 so he can play them on portable devices.

Modified!
I had to add this. @OP: Admit it. You made this list mostly from a single page from Youtube cheesy
Or, rather, whoever compiled the list did so from almost a single Youtube page. Just search and play one of the above songs, then check out the rest of the songs displayed on the sideboard.
I searched for that song by Dan Maraya, and while it was playing, I realized that most of the songs on the list were displayed right there at the sideboard on the right.
Anyhow, you just made me give myself an assignment for the rest of today. Im gonna be searching for, and downloading some songs I could remember from childhood. Thanks!

DON'T EVER THINK OF SUBSTITUTING NIGERIA MY BELOVED COUNTRY FROM THAT LIST AGAIN.

Its currently the only song we have that can summon the never dying spirit of a true Nigerian. That song should sit in the heart of every Nigerian. Its a shame we ignore it for the rubbish we now call music.

I know a lot about my country
I know a lot I care
I know a lot about my people
I know a lot because I care
ahhh I'm singing it again

LOL. The Good Old days with good meaningful songs.

No 33: Funmi Adams – Nigeria My Beloved Country
(1989 (?), “All We Need Is Love”, Supra)
Funmi Adams – Nigeria My Beloved Country

Nigerians. This song should mean a lot to U. A lot more than the rubbish listed ahead of it.

PLS download this song. Listen to it everyday. It will bring Us back to our senses. It will lead Us to the beauty of our mother land not the beauty of our ethnic group, state or region. It will teach us more of what our commitment should be to our mother land. We need this song again. We need Funmi Adams again.

Note that this list was probably complied in 2010, you can also add latest songs that you think can displace any of those in the list above.

I agree with this list. These are evergreen songs that made sense with followable lyrics.

Much respect to Onyeka Owenu(Nigeria's Chaka Chaka or Makeba), Sonny Okosun(whose songs make me think deeply) and Fela Kuti.
