Father Christmas or Santa claus, as he is fondly called in this clime,is best known for rewarding
good conducts. Now, what happens when this rewarder of virtues/gift becomes the very wrongdoer?

That is exactly what tookplace recently at a Christmas party organized by a famous nursery and
primary school in the Ojodu-Abiodun area of Ogun State. Ofcourse during such parties, children are usually taken to the Father Christmas one after
the other to receive special gifts from him.

The joyful event which draws a lot of crowd arround the vicinity turned awry after a 5year-
old pupil from the school complained to one of the teacher that the father Christmas dipped a finger in her private part and blood gushed out when she went in to collect her own gift.

The matter was quickly reported at a police station in the area and he was arrested immediately.The said Father Christmas was arrested on friday and later released on bail.However,he was mandated to report to the station last Monday.

When crew from Sunday Sun newspaper visited the police station at Ajodu where the issue was reported, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) denied
Vehmently and said no such case was brought before him..
However, further investigations carriedout by the crew showed that the matter was actually reported at that police station.
A petty trader around the police station when confronted by Sunday Sun said that the matter did not actually involve a Father Christmas, but a mere Barney that was brought to the party by the party organizers hired by the
school for the event was the one that did the unimaginable act.

The woman explained further that it was even the owner of the business ,Mr Benson that was arrested and not the culprit as he ran away and could not be traced shortly after the incident.

She said that she got to know about the matter when she saw a heavily pregnant woman by her shop (who she claimed to be the wife of the organizer that was arrested)

She was crying while the man was detained at the police station.
She also argued that the man on
the run was clearly innocent of the charge, though she could barely
explain why the said offender disappeared from t shortly following the scene shortly after the case was report to the police.

She argued that the parents of the girl were twisting the matter and not telling the whole truth, as they were alleged to have rushed and took the child to a hospital as far as Ogba,in Lagos state, for test that would ascertain the truth of the matter.

According to her, they claimed that they took her to their family hospital. She's of the opinion that the police were the people to decide where the test should be carried out.

“I know the man that was arrested he is my husband. He runs a
party organizing outfit, which the school went and hired.
The last time people rent the Barney costume, it was her son that wore it as they couldn't find someone to wear it.

Unfortunately,this time arround the person who happens to wear the costume during the party allegedly dipped his finger in the girl’s private part and ran away. They haven't seen him till now,” she explained.

Meanwhile, another respondent, a fat dark woman who lives at the back of the school confirmed the
story to Sunday Sun, saying it was real and that it was actually a man in red father Christmas costume that committed the offence.The school, a white painted two-storey building, is adjacent to her house.
She, however, shed more light on the matter and said that with the matter has been settled.
she said “The school where having the party up stairs when the incident occured; they have a large hall where they hold yearly parties. But they have settled it and everything is ok now”.

She even assured the reporter that the school is a nice.''its a well known school and they teacheS well,its a good school,even I myself I once teach there years back''.
