MEND Backs Buhari For Presidency by DeCleff(m): 3:35pm On Jan 06, 2015
The presidential candidate of
the All Progressives’ Congress
(APC), Gen. Muhammadu Buhari
(rtd), on Tuesday gained an
unusual support as the main
agitating militant group in the Niger Delta, the Movement for
the Emancipation of the Niger
Delta (MEND), pledged its total
support for the former military
ruler. MEND, in a lengthy press
statement circulated through
email by its spokesperson, Jomo
Gbomo, anchored its decision on
the need to deliver Nigeria,
especially the Niger Delta region, from the crunching
effects of corruption. It also lamented the
unconcerned attitude of the
President Goodluck Jonathan’s
administration at the
unrelenting degradation of the
Niger Delta environment, taking a hard stance on the increasing
level of oil theft in the region. President Jonathan, according
to MEND, does not deserve a
second more in the Presidency. The group also commended
Buhari for proposing to scrap
the office of the First Lady,
which it considered to be a
drain on the nation’s resources
and a conduit through which corrupt government officials
stole across all levels of
government. It said, “The Movement for the
Emancipation of the Niger Delta
(MEND) has, upon careful
consideration of the state of the
nation, endorses and fully
supports the presidential candidate of the All Progressive
Congress (APC), Gen.
Mohammadu Buhari. “Our decision to throw our full
support on Gen. Mohammadu
Buhari stems from the pathetic
state in which the country has
been put by the government of
Goodluck Jonathan and our strong believe in Buhari as the
man and change the country
needs. “President Goodluck Jonathan
does not deserve a second more
in the Presidency as soon as his
tenure expires as he has
continuously and blatantly
disregarded the very people who voted him into office. “A President that told Nigerian
to their faces that he does not
‘give a damn’ when asked to
declare his assets. A
requirement that is
constitutional on assuming the office of the President. “President Jonathan, since
assuming his office, has setup
countless committees, whose
reports have never been
implemented. From the Nuhu
Ribadu report to the KPMG and fuel subsidy reports, just to
mention a few. “How can Nigerians expect a
highly corrupt person like
Goodluck Jonathan to fight
corruption when he believes
that stealing is not corruption,
as he shamelessly told the Nation? “He has proven beyond all
reasonable doubt, his inability
to tackle corruption or
prosecute a single government
official in his six years in office. “MEND finds it laughable the
recent statement by Goodluck
Jonathan on his government’s
plan to fight corruption. This
statement not only smacks of
ignorance of the highest order, but also shows just how stupid
he thinks Nigerians are. A
president that had six years to
tackle the problem but chose to
shield corrupt government
officials, joined in the looting of our resources and now has the
temerity to say his government
has a plan to fight corruption.
This is a big slap in the face of
every single Nigerian! “We re-state our disregard and
lack of confidence in President
Goodluck Jonathan. Rather than
address the perennial issues in
the country responsible for his
administrations failures, he is concentrating government
funds in a campaign of
misinformation intended to
hoodwink Nigerians who,
unfortunately for him, are now
wiser and smarter than he is. “Goodluck Jonathan’s actions,
utterances and arrogance prove
that he is totally disconnected
with the situation facing the
ordinary Nigerian and
completely out of touch with reality.”

Is this believable?

I think not.

This Buhari Movement is becoming an unstoppable force.

I suspect these militants remember the sincerity of the Yar'adua amnesty program vs. the legalisation of oil bunkering through a few benefeciary militants like Tompolo etc.under GEJ.

GMB appeciates their support in trying to help build a solid one Nigeria.
Another election sad news for GEJ. Ohanaeze, do not disappoint. Learn from the trend....

Another proof that GEJ's 6 years in power benefited only very few elites both in the South and in the North.

GMB 2015 On Course.

Full text of Muhammadu Buhari's
message to Nigerians this morning: "Let
us talk, Nigerian to Nigerian." As we enter a year, let us talk - Nigerian
to Nigerian. Many of you believe that something is
wrong with Nigeria. Many of you have
given up. Some of you think this country
can never be good; can never get better.
And so you forgive politicians for
stealing and for mediocrity – because you say to yourselves, they are all
thieves, they are all selfish and nothing
will change. But is that really true? It is not. Many people ask me: why am I running
for office again? And I ask them – what has changed since
I began this mission? Can you honestly,
truly say to yourself that our country has
changed for the better? Are our children
safe when they go to school? Are our
parents safe when we leave them at home? Is the naira in your bank account
of greater value today than it was four
years ago? People accuse me of many things. But
one thing they never accuse me of is
corruption. They never accuse me of
mediocrity. They never accuse me of
lying. I have led this country and I have a
record. We were not perfect, but we
were effective, and we solved problems,
and we made Nigerians proud to be
Nigerians. In our government, we fought
corruption, we stabilised the naira, and
we shut down insurgencies. We
shouldn't forget so soon that there was
Maitatsine ravaging the northeast and
we dealt with it; we also over ran the Chadian rebels that invaded Nigeria. In
our government we rebuilt industries. Nigerians queued up and treated each
other with respect; Nigerians took pride
in our reputation for discipline. The
world admired us. We were proud to be
Nigerians. Because they can't attack my record,
they accuse me of ethnic jingoism; they
accuse me falsely of religious
fundamentalism. Because they cannot
attack our record, they accuse us falsely
of calling for election violence - when we have only insisted on peace. And yet I
was Head of State of this country and of
course we never imposed Sha’riah. All
my vice-presidential candidates have
been either Igbo or Yoruba, and always
Christian. I have and will continue to condemn those who burn God's places of
worship, be they churches or mosques
and wish God's judgment upon them. As
your President, their punishment won't
stop there - we will also ensure such
elements are found, are arrested and face the full wrath of the law as punishment
for their crimes against our country. So don’t let anyone attempt to blind you
with fear so they can continue to
plunder our nation’s resources, and to
keep you away from the wealth that
they share. How can 219 girls be missing in our
country, and our leader appears
incapable of action? How can 12 young
people die because they were looking
for jobs in Abuja and justice is not met?
How can so many corruption scandals remain unsolved? How can we allow the cowards of Boko
Haram take over any part of this country
- a sovereign state? What is going on here? In this our
country? In a country that belongs to all
of us? This is very important to note: It doesn’t
matter if you are Igbo, Yoruba, Ijaw,
Hausa, Idoma, Efik, Ekwere, Urhobo Igala:
neither does it matter if you are
Christian, Muslim, animist or atheist: we
need a new direction under a new leadership. This is why I am running for the office of
the president of Nigeria. This is my promise: We will work hard
and fast for you. Our children will go to
school and they will return safe.
Corruption will be a thing of the past and
we will ensure that wealth goes around
citizens in an equitable manner. Government will conduct itself in a
disciplined and responsible manner; we
will identify problems and fix them. The task ahead will be challenging and
daunting but it is surmountable. That is
what leadership is about. My only desire is to prove to you that
Nigeria can truly work. Allow me prove
to you that in your lifetime, you and
your children can be proud of this
country. Change is inevitable. The road to change
however comes if we all go out on
February the 14 to vote for the APC (All
Progressives Congress) as the instrument
of change. Let me make you this promise today. We
will protect your children. We will
protect your wealth. We will make this
country work again, for everyone. My name is Muhammadu Buhari. Vote APC. Vote Muhammadu Buhari. God bless you all. God keep us strong.

If really dis mesg kam frm Mend.
Then am of a very strong believe that Change is kuming,
Becos now it those not matter who wins 2015 General Election. Nigerian needs Change. If GEJ one way or the oder could win, then he will change this Country, also if GBM wins he will aswel do dsame.
But if Dis change had kumUp dis way 2011 GEJ would have done well d last four year, he did all what he did becos Nigerians did not put pressure or demand more from him that was why GEJ allowed dis useless tin to happen in front of him. Just that am afraid GEJ will find it very difficult to win dis time but if he dose, I assure Nigerian we re going to see a Differen GEJ.
Pls let's stop insulting our self here. Like the Cert issue. Let be more mature, an tell ourself the truth, hw many of us here av graduated for years since, like mi here, 4years now, what has d cert don for mi. We re here asking for gbM Cert. Let gEJ add more Value to nigerian Cert, becos as of now dere is noon attached to it.

Dis what I feel or think will happen.
All I just wish for is Change.
