OK This is a big surprise to me today after pulling out a piece of 1000 naira note to pay for an item in a boutique only to be told its fake.

l quickly retrieve the piece and head ed for the nearest Eco Bank and without even checking the 1000 note the banker confirmed it to be fake.

This got me thinking because all my transactions had been through cheques and ATM. And I remembered keeping this ones (it was more than one) for Christmas because they were mint money. This last piece is the last of its pack and I didn't get any payment from individuals. My transactions were bank cheques from customers and ATM.

SO HOW DID THIS FAKE CURRENCY JOINED THE PACK? see me see wahala!!

You took it to a bank and they still let you have it?

Obviously, slotted in by a fraudulent cashier.

Hardly would that have been a mistake because of the lighting in the banks bulk room to identify fake notes.

So na your bank be the devil.

I once had a fake 1000 note out of a total of 50k. I was given the fake at Fidelity bank in oba akran Ikeja. Wanted to pay that money into my FCMB account to draw out PTA for travel. The FCMB cashier spotted it straight away under UV light. I didn't bother to go back to fidelity as I was traveling before the end of the week. Those cashiers are very dubious.
