bushdoc9919: Obviously, someone with mental issues shouldn't be kept in police custody in the first place, once that has been certified. But since you said they don't have facilities for folks with mental health in America, they should've just left him alone in isolation, without excessive force. He's a victim of police brutality, and that's what the case should be about. Hence there's a cover-up about what led to his death, and also the reason why his parents are fighting for him. In policing, there's something called "measured force." And once they've ascertained that he had mental health problems (vulnerable cos in every society - minors, seniors, and folks with mental health problems are the most vulnerable people), they should have put him in a cell by himself, without troubling him. But they killed this guy - the same way they killed Eric Garner - and it's unacceptable. 2 Likes |

They are saying the guy was arrested for brutalizing his girlfriend. Some say he has polar bear syndrome. It must be the cold; eh ya but he broke a police woman's nose, that is a no no but oh well he died. Bring back the body for a befitting burial in Nigeria. What am I really saying sef? |

The biggest culprit is the mumu girlfriend that called the police for a man with a manic episode. Unless she is white or spends all her free time watching E! she would have been following the news and known about the rise in the number of black men killed by police when doing nothing wrong or involved in petty misdemeanours (jaywalking/selling loosies) Why the hell would any sensible black person in the US call the police on their loved one during a mental episode when stats show that 42% of those killed by police over a 12 year period had a form of mental illness. 1 Like |

A junior in secondary school...... Know him to his home here in Lagos. He was a good kid, very much into arts, I remember a year he came back to nigeria with his elder bro who happened to be my classmate n good friend. We all had fun, no violence, no police hitches. Behind the Savannah Police Dept story, we are waiting for that missing piece, they still don't wanna admit their wrongs!!, for a boy without any past criminal/violent record even in the US. I hope the autopsy tells us all. RIP Alex, Mathew Ajibade!!! Caleb Int'l College family Will forever Miss U. 4 Likes |

Jwonder: I read the post before commenting men....Am sure u really dnt understand what am trying to say....So read my comment and try to see what am trying to say. U need to understand that sometimes we African can't use certain strong drugs like the white people because of the negative side effects. Body system defers man...Bcus it works for Mr A those it mean it will work for Mr B......I think that same reason the officers wouldn't easy confirm he was having a strong negative effect on d drugs he took. Some Bipolar Patient might not react same extreme violent way he reacted. |

CityNG: You said ... What about these repeated cop on black murders that's caused mass riot ? Do you want me to cite cases ? |
Re: Matthew Ajibade Dies In US Police Custody (Photo) by DaBullIT(m): 9:31am On Jan 09, 2015 |
CityNG: Well , as far as I know , any 911 call in which the name of suspect is mentioned , the police automatically reserves the right to check record , not only for medical records but also to check if suspect has criminal record , if he's dangerouz or high risk. On that profile any patient with a severe medical record is automatically flagged I'm pretty sure his college has his medical record too , ask around you'll see its true |
Re: Matthew Ajibade Dies In US Police Custody (Photo) by Nobody: 9:34am On Jan 09, 2015 |
DaBullIT: Cops have a duty to protect themselves too. I see no trend or epidemic. You can go ahead and cite any case you want, it's not as if we're helping Seun pay for server space or bandwidth. Just don't expect it to mean anything to me. He died in police custody is far different from he was killed by police. |

bushdoc9919: I don't follow , do you think the police would have had access to his medical records and would have called in the appropriate medical/ health department after he was arrested / detained or even before they arrive on scene could they have checked his records ? |
Re: Matthew Ajibade Dies In US Police Custody (Photo) by Nobody: 9:37am On Jan 09, 2015 |
DaBullIT: It's not true. Criminal record is in police database, private medical record is not. Please educate yourself. |
