Unforgettable Moments Of 2014 In Nigeria by Nobody: 9:22am On Jan 12, 2015 |
I sat back on my sofa and thoughts about Nigeria, my beloved country came to my mind. I was lost in thoughts for some minutes thinking of where Nigeria will be in the next 6years. I was thinking of the future of me and my siblings and that of other Nigerian youths, both graduates and undergraduates. Some events (though sad) that occurred in 2014 came into picture in my thoughts. I wept and cried for myself and the country I originate from (My Dear Nigeria). They are: 1. Chibok Girls Abduction: Our innocent young students writing their WASSCE exams were kidnapped by the Boko Haram sect. At first, nobody (especially the FG) took it serious not until their pictures and names were released and when their parents cried out. It is a sad occurance that has entered into the history book of our Green land. 2. Nyanya Bomb Blasts: Nyanya in Abuja was bombed two times within a fortnight and many innocent souls were lost to the blasts. Some survivors as reported in the media were abandoned in hospitals. 3. Attack and Killings of students of federal government college,Buni Yadi, Yobe state where up to 59 students were killed at night in their dormitories. 4. Immigration Job Scam: Yes , I call it a scam because till today nothing has been heard about the NIS interview which caused stampede and death of some young Nigerian undergraduates. 5. Ebola Virus: This was a major threat to all living Nigerians in the year 2014. It claimed many lives and instilled fear in many. But our government and citizens did well in other to curb this deadly virus and it became a history. 6. 9million dollars Arms Deal: We woke up one morning to a Viral news that some people from our country with an Israeli went to south Africa to purchase arms. They arrived in a private jet owned but leased out by a well respected man of God. 7. Synagogue Building Collapse: This claimed the lives of many South Africans and few Nigerians. Till today nothing has been heard about the investigations carried out to determine the cause. 8. National Assembly Tragedy: The speaker of house of reps and some members were locked out of the assembly complex due to political differences resulting from the change of political party by the speaker. The police was highly criticized for their role in the case. 9. Death Sentence and Jail Terms For Some Soldiers That Were Found Guilty Of Mutiny while fighting insurgency in the North Eastern part of the country. 10. Assasination/Killing Of Emir Of Gwoza: His name is Alhaji Idrissa Timta. He died from gunshot wounds. 11. Missing 20billion Naira: A Mystery yet to be unraveled. 12. Beheading Of A Flight Wing Commandant By The Boko Haram Sect. These moments can’t be forgotten so easily as far as we all are alive. These events created pandemonium in some quarters. People lived in fear and the most annoying part was how some of them were now used as political witch hunting tool. We continue to pray for the dead, victims and families of these sad occurrences. And we pray for a better 2015 for all and sundry. One Love Nigerians. Long Live Nigeria. Don’t make this election a do or die affair. If you are ignorant of war or crises, Then ask your parents about 1967 – 1970. Written By Mista Ebuka SOURCE: http://mistaebuka..com.es/2015/01/unforgettable-moments-of-2014-in-nigeria.html |
