I am deeply pained. 2000 Nigerians were murdered in a genocidal act by Boko Haram. The whole country should be mourning. The whole world should be mourning with Nigeria, with actions being taken. But NO!
Nigerians have already watered down the tragedy. The Chibok issue was our chance at getting global sympathy. We got it. Our president did not like it, his supporters went mad.
No girls were missing...how can Hausa girls be writing WAEC in Physics...the girls cant even speak English they said.
The world became confused after sometime. Were the girls actually missing? The cries of the parents, the sorrow of relatives and the deep cut in the heart of sensible Nigerians were not enough to spart the plug in our president. It took a girl called Malala for the president to actually admit that the girls were missing.
Now back to Baga. I was reading international news agencies like BBC, Channel 4, and they all carried stories about Baga, but with handbrake. They were probably soft on it because of the silence of Nigerians. I fear that until Boko haram kill 1 million in a day, only then will Nigerians rise up together.
Shame on all of us. Shame on the president. Shame on Nigerian media which has sold its soul.
God bless the soldiers on the frontline who are the only line between us being overun by a willing enemy.
