I just finished a small project now on freelancers.com and I was paid $250. I wanted to cash out and discovered that cashing out from Nigeria is almost impossible. Their requirements are big, which include having a Tax Identification Number (TIN).

Is there a way out of this?

Well, as a foreigner, I was based in Nigeria for quite long, had a Nigerian address registered with Freelancer and Odesk. However, I have received my debit cards (Payoneer) to my European address. The Payoneer card from Odesk actually did work in Nigerian ATMs.

Did you, through Freelancer, register with Payoneer/Skrill, and did you get your card? That is absolutely the easiest way to get your money. Having the money wired into your bank account is more expensive, slower and generally carries a lot of issues...

So in short, did you get your debit card yet? Mind you, when you receive your first payment, payoneer will deduct one-time activation fee of, I think, $25, so out of your $250, you will get some $220 or @225 at the ATM.
