It is now clear that some Imo state PDP Chieftains are working to ensure that President Goodluck Jonathan loses the Presidential election billed to take place on 14th February.

This indication becomes clear following an ugly occurrence yesterday at the meeting of Goodluck Support Group, GSG Imo state chapter in Owerri, the state capital. While the GSG members were meeting and waiting for the state coordinator, Sir Martin Ejiogu to come, it was learnt that the head of the Presidential Team in the state, chief Achike Udenwa was gathering motor park miscreants and other unscrupulous elements in the state to use them for the presidential rally instead of using GSG trained members to canvass votes for Mr President. This caused fracas among the GSG members who felt that they were being used by the PDP members in the state who are known to manipulate processes even to the detriment of their guber and other candidates for the general elections.

Following this discouraging situation, majority of Goodluck Support Group members in Imo State have organised themselves to carry out a massive public protest in the state capital this Friday if nothing serious is done to remedy the situation.

From all indications, the planned protest by the GSG members will certainly cause serious embarrassment to the President and more damaging impact to PDP governorship candidate, senatorial and other candidates of the party for the general elections. This is happening when the strong oppositions in the state are consolidating on their most impactful grassroots politicking exercises. As all these ugly scenarios surface at this critical moment, one question becomes paramount: Will the insensitive PDP politicians who have long lost electoral values in the state allow Mr PRESIDENT and the Guber candidate enjoy the support of the good people of Imo state? The attention that will be given to THIS piece will determine what the answer will be.
