Not sure what message the OP is trying to pass. But from what we heard in the 80's, Nigeria was not importing petroleum products - correct me if I'm wrong- so international prices of crude oil may not have significant effect on the price of petrol as it is today.

Today, if our refineries are operating at optimum levels, I assume the international market prices of crude oil should not impact 'significantly' on petroleum products produced in the country since we do not buy crude oil.

Any incoming government should work on fixing/developing our refineries..it shouldn't be as difficult as rocket science.

Is that how to fight corruption?
Jonathan pardoned James Ibori, a man who stole
billions of naira and left the Delta state coffers an
empty shell. He pardoned Alamesiegha, the man
who was convicted abroad and had to escape
dressed as an ugly woman. He pardoned and
embraced Buruji Kashamu; a wanted drug baron
and made him a party chairman. He pardoned Al
mustapha; the hench man of Late Sani Abacha to
use him in order to achieve some selfish political
gains. He accepted and embraced Ali Modu
Sheriff; a well known boko haram sponsor and
gave him the PDP ticket to contest for senate. He
failed to prosecute Stella Oduah, the Aviation
Minister for the massive sleaze of her ministry's
treasury to buy bullet-proof cars. He failed to
prosecute Aba Moro; the Interior Minister who
suprintended over the death of many graduates in
search of immigration jobs and collected a
thousand naira from each candidate. He failed to
prosecute Diezani Madueke; the Petroleum
Minister who has not been able to account for the
missing billions of naira that developed wings
under her care and was indicted abroad for
brazen corruption. He failed to prosecute the man
who stole billions of pension funds meant for
those who have deligently served their father-land
for 35 years. Aminu Oguche, the man who was
extradited, a self-professed master-mind of the
Nyanya bomb blast in which so many lives and
properties were destroyed; was set free and to
this day, not a single word has been heard from
the presidency. He appointed Obanikoro, a known
and unrepentant election rigger as a Minister in
his cabinet. He appointed Femi Fani Kayode, a
man with a money-laundering case on his neck,
as his campaign co-ordinator. When Nigeria had
a president, Gani Adams was in hiding, Uwazurike
was in detention awaiting trial for treason, Asari
Dokubo was in detention awaiting trial for treason,
Tompolo was in hiding. Now vagabonds are in
power the result is what we are witnessing today.
Nigerians, these are the kind of people Jonathan
loves to work with. Should we continue to leave
our yams in the 'care' of goats A president
who cannot muster enough strength to confront
our greatest problem is not fit to be re-elected!
People, pls tell me, is this the kind of person we
honestly want as our leader Should our dislike
for Buhari make us continue with the mess we are
in Haba! CHANGE is natural and absolutely
necessary!

Bros, the price was inflated by the same government and reduced by the same government without any improvement on the economy. Just wondering where the money gotten from the so called subsidy has gone to. And really, from my calculations the price of fuel is suppose to drop lower than 87 naira . So what are we talking?

There are lots of cheap reply to your too cheap questions, but the way you put it, it looks as if Jonathan/Pdp willingly or even know implication of drop in world market at home. It was APC/Buhari that educated the masses against them, pdp were never happy to reduce it. Can you tell us when the price drop occurred with percentage and tell us when Pdp grudgingly reduce only pms pump price and with what percentage ?

The Federal High Court sitting in Kaduna this morning granted embattled former governor of Delta State, James Ibori bail after about 10 weeks in detention. The court granted him bail in the sum of N50 million. The presiding judge, Justice Mohammed Lawal Shuaibu, in his ruling submitted that the court had to consider Ibori bail application on the grounds that his counsel, Joseph Daudu, SAN, gave reasons of ill-health, the accuseds inability to see his lawyer and lack of movement to procure relevant documents to defend the charges filed against him.

This is too pedestrian!
Because after a lot of second thought, Gej decides to reduce price of oil (after increasing & reducing it more than twice in the last six years) by ten naira, you are running haywire! At least your analysis shows that Buhari did not reduce or increased the price. You should also tell us who built port Harcourt & Kaduna refinery.

The ordinary Nigeria who doesn't HV a car cannot feel the effect of ten naira reduction because it has not reduced his cost of transportation, cost of food, etc.
Marching for Buhari pls, sai baba

What kind of argument is this? He did not reduce it because Nigeria was not importing refined products like we are now. The crude oil that was being refined back then was produced locally and not round-tripped like it's done now. I have tried to give as simplistic an explanation as I could. Hope you understand.
