I submitted October 29th, I should be expecting response any moment from now.

I want to confirm, did you apply that you travelling to reunite with a family member or you a travelling as a tourist. I guess processing is faster for applications of people reuniting with family member.

I applied for SOWP earlier on but I realized it’s a long thing (still pending) so I reapplied for visitors visa on the portal on the 28th of October,2021. I didn’t receive any update till this morning .

This letter was sent to my friend, Does it mean Nigerians can travel from any other country or total ban no matter your location..

Just got PPR for my mum.

Applied Oct 18 via GC key. Reapplied October 26 via new portal. PPR received Dec 2

I used the new portal after reading here that application process was between 14 to 30 days.

As at 1 December, travellers from Nigeria will not be allowed entry into Canada. Except they are PR and citizens, they can but have to do a PCR test at a transit point.

Simply put: if you are coming as a tourist or visitor; stay in Nigeria until the restrictions are lifted!

I guess you also reapplied to unite with Family Member in Canada, because I guess they are attending to them more faster than normal visit visa.

I guess there’s no reason to rush now given the travel ban. I was going to send my Mum’s passport to Ghana directly but I’ll just do Lagos. Saves costs since she can’t travel now till they lift the ban or introduce some exemptions. A blanket ban doesn’t make sense, COVID is apparently here to stay, we have to learn to live with it.

Once in a while applications are usually opened for scholarships in canada, who wants a list of these schools? the applications would open soon.
