otedola1: You won't pay for biometrics since the one on your file is still valid, but you will pay 100 Canadian dollars for the visa application. IRCC says you can apply for a refund if you cancel your application and that a refund will be processed within 8 weeks, but I don't think this statement is true because those who applied for refunds since last year are still waiting. You can withdraw the application and then reapply, but if you choose to email them, send your message to the Canada visa office in Nairobi because they are the ones responsible for processing temporary resident visas for Nigerian applicants. https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/case-cas-eng.aspx?mission=Nairobi I believe there’s no one single rule to this issue. Some applicants successfully rectified errors in their applications just by sending emails to IRCC, but others were unable to do that ; therefore, don't base your judgment on whatever you read here. Try doing your own research before making a final decision on what to do. In the end, it will come to happiness. Best of luck to you! |

Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Ashirioluwa: 7:52am On Oct 01, 2023 |
otedola1: Like I said before, don't base your decision on what you read here on Nairaland. To decide if cancellation or withdrawal is what you really want, please do your own research. Also, note that sometimes it takes IRCC weeks, even months, before they respond to a withdrawal or cancellation request. You can use the link below to submit a cancellation or withdrawal request. https://secure.cic.gc.ca/ClientContact/en/Application/Form/74 Best of luck. |

Feranmi1212: First, gather the necessary documents, and then you can apply through either the new portal or GCKey account. Use this link to apply through GCKey account: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/account.html Use this link for the new application portal: https://portal-portail.apps.cic.gc.ca/signin?lang=en You will need an invite code to apply through the new application portal. Use the link below to get the code. https://ircc.canada.ca/visit-visiter/en/get-account-ircc-portal 3 Likes 1 Share |

Good day House, On the new portal, do I need to upload any document in the placeholder for consent information under optional documents. I need clarity as i don't know how to go about it. I will appreciate responses from those who have previously applied as I need to finalize today. Thank you. |

Ashirioluwa:. Thanks for this |
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Ashirioluwa: 1:25pm On Oct 01, 2023 |
adelforreal: No, you don't need to upload any documents to that section unless you have a designated representative you want IRCC to release your information to. But for minor applications - in the case of minors 16 years of age and under, their parents can be their designated representative, and the consent form must be filled out and uploaded. For optional documents, it is not necessary to upload ‘Optional Documents'; it means exactly what it says: uploading documents to this section is optional. But if you feel that those mandatory documents’ you uploaded are somehow ‘weak’, and you feel that adding more documents to the optional document section will help your case to get the visa, then upload those relevant documents. 1 Like |

Thanks for the response. Finally, what do i put in the part that says "Total funds available for your stay". Is it the total POF amount available for this application or the portion of the POF that i will be spending during my 2 week vacation in Canada. I just want to be sure so that I do not understate or overstate facts. Thank you. Ashirioluwa: 1 Like |

adelforreal: I know most people interpret this question differently, but no one in his or her right mind will want to spend his or her entire savings on a vacation trip. Put in a reasonable amount that will cover all the trip expenses. It should be the portion that you are planning to spend on this vacation trip. 1 Like |

PPR ALERT Application:16th September 2023 Biometrics Added: 17th September (Had done this previously last year. Eligibility Completed : 18th September Bvl and ppr- 2nd October I do have a valid us visa, I applied first for trv last year to speak at a conference in Canada but by the time I received my passport back from the embassy the conference was over so ended up not travelling at all. However, that passport expired in August 2023 so I only had a one year visa valid till then. I renewed my passport this year and wanted to have the TRV just in case I have an impromptu need to travel to Canada so I applied again. I only attached four documents, my passport, appointment letter from my organization and my valid us visa and a letter stating what I do and that I wanted to travel to see canada. I didn't attach bank statement because it wasn't requested for( Please attach as much as you think you need, I personally just decided not to 😜, everyone's case is different O). Just wanted to share. This is my second time applying so I sincerely do not have a whole wealth of experience to share on Canada visa process as both times for me were quite simple a d straightforward. Quick question if anyone knows before I send in my passport? Not sure the yellow paper I got for biometrics last year came back with my passport when I submitted, I can't find it. I did biometrics in Lagos, but plan on sending to Abuja. Will paying for Transmission fee cover for not attaching the yellow biometric slip? Thanks everyone. 8 Likes 1 Share |
