Bidemi Fahm, the young, amiable Chief Executive Officer of West Farms Ltd, the largest recirculation catfish farm in Nigeria, with an annual production capacity of 1600 tons of table-size catfish,is said to have exited the aquaculture business. The hardworking entrepreneur incorporated West Farms in 2006 as part of his Oil & Gas Company’s strategic diversification program, but began operations in 2007 and successfully built business alliances which ensured that the high tech farm was always in tune with best practices in the global aquaculture industry. As a result, the Fisheries Society of Nigeria (FISON) bestowed a Corporate Award of Excellence on West Farms for its contribution to Aquaculture Development in Nigeria less than a year after it commenced operations.
