CHILD THEFT: Housewife Sells Neighbours Child For N250,000 In Delta State by lalasticlala(m): 12:15pm On Jan 21, 2015
A desperate housewife who lives in Akwukwu-Igbo community near Asaba, Delta State, Eunice (surname withheld), has allegedly stolen a two-year-old neighbour’s baby and sold it for N250,000.00.

Reports said that the woman, who is currently helping the police and cooling off her heels at the state’s police, CID, Asaba, was said to have arranged for the sale of the baby with a woman who was said to have been married for 18 years without a child in Lagos before the bubble burst.

It was reliably gathered that a trusted neighbour had last Wednesday appealed to Eunice to help look after the baby to enable her buy some food items in a neighbouring community’s market.

Eunice, however, put a call across to the said buyer (now at large).

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Celestina Kalu, who confirmed the arrest of the woman, disclosed that the suspect had disappeared after selling the baby.

DSP Kalu said that the police, acting on a tip-off and relying on neighbours who sighted the woman while the deal lasted, swung into action and arrested the woman in Ore Community where she was lodged in hotel.

This is crazy! Why buy a baby when there are so many lovely kids at the orphanage and motherless babies home that she can legally adopt at even lesser cost and trouble.

Let's assume she wanted to deceive her husband that she was the one who gave birth to the baby after 18yrs of childlessness, is it buying a two years old baby that she will achieve that? is a two year old baby not distinct from a new born baby? This story looks very strange. There is a great possibility that the buyer is a ritualist.
I can't imagine what the parents must be going through now. I just pray God will protect the innocent baby.

Both the buyer and the seller are wicked and heartless , why steal another woman's child when there are motherless babies everywhere ?

U are right. The buyer must be a ritualist possibly succeeded in convincing the silly woman that she has been barren for 18yrs.
